Suddenly had a mental image of a guard of honour of two lines of Chimaera owners, holding crossed flaming blowtorches aloft.......hope I don’t get banned for “flaming”.

The B word was probably Boris.....

Congratulations Daz. Great news bow

Be interesting to see if married life slows you down any laugh
Sped Anthony up,, what a good woman can do for you biglaugh

Borrow tyres after a few practices, sub 12’s all day. yes

I had a biker friend pop round, mentioned drag strip and the top boys times etc, he was super impressed, he builds shed thingies and knows how hard it is to push through the air.

Fancy being banned over Boris, hardly seems worth it.

If you get into the 11’s Daz, I’ll eat 3 pastries!

I know your times are quick I believe assisted by your higher ratio diff and not needing to hit 4th, (extra gear change).

I am sympathetic in my changes and could do better but won’t do so I’ll never beat my time imho, (11.83 Daz, smile )

Good luck and I hope to see you there. thumbup

Might be able to make it for a few hrs in the morning but it'll be a last-minute thing.

That’s insanely fast considering it’s not really your thing.
Good job I don’t do one of these times, you’d never hear the end of it biggrin

Was that with the new Dif scratchchin

Looks like this might be building into a great get together.
Lots of familiar faces and be great to meet some new like minded TVR nutters.

I am looking forward to this one, its been too long!

No, with the old one which if I’m honest wasn’t much different from the new diff!

The next run after the 11.83 I sheered the stub axle.

Not something you will do with an ordinary Chimaera or slightly tweaked as I was running 450ftlb of torque at the time. Now reduced to 430 but more bhp at higher rpm.

It’s amazing how fast this car can be and yet I’ve been using it so much recently on the road. It performs so quietly and smoothly you would never think it was as capable as it is.

I know nothing about drag racing and this would be my first drag meet. But just for benchmarking's sake where would for example a standard 400 be? (not that I'm going to run!)

Have a look at the general TVR forum, first item, quarter-mile times. Interesting reading.

Madmax2seems to be the fastest standard 4.0. Sardonicus is quicker with a 13.22 but with a modified engine at the time if I remember correctly.

Church is across the road Holly Trinity and the reception is in the garden. We are having marque for 110 people .

Once you’ve reached a great time, it’s really hard to progress from there, even to knock a smidge off!

Best of luck!

Hope the weather is good and all goes to plan for your wedding Daz. smile

Just 1 month away.
Lets hope this unpredictable Summer weather settles down by then and its not a toss up between a 30 degree heatwave and torrential storms.

I've just realised I am away that weekend for my dad's birthday grumpy

My diff finally got finished and back to me yesterday, so I've been putting the car back together since.

The Hoosiers fit (just) although the body is slightly off centre so I think the left will rub on the top of the arch at launch. Definitely pushing my luck with tyre sizes hehe

Exhaust back on tomorrow and I can see what the new 3.08 feels like

Rear arch clearance

Chassis clearance
