How did you get on?

I saw these in costco and was tempted but can't make my mind up. The ideal would be a garage somewhere which rents out its ramps on weekends!

I bought a pair and they work well, but they are only just long enough to reach both lifting points, ideally they would be an inch longer, when I lower it down next I will look to see how to overcome that, the other thing I didn’t realise to start with is that they are not mains powered, you need a 12v supply, so I just connected it to a car battery.
But the build quality and components look good, there are some discussions about poor instructions on the bleeding when filling with oil, but it’s quite straightforward really

Mine is the larger 7000 series, which according to the manual is an inch longer, and a inch and a half wider, as its designed for a greater lifting capacity, the lifting blocks easily sit on the outrigger corners, and the frame sits between the wheels with room to spare.
Works well for me in my limited height ceiling garage, raises the car to a higher level than I can with a normal jack and stands, so with a Crawler board I have easy access to the underside of the car, and in so much less time, plus the frames are easily moved out of the way when not needed ...... very happy I decided to go with these, and thanks to the OP for highlighting them as an option.

Stumbled across this post looking at the quick jacks. Would love a scissor lift or 2 poster but both height and portability are an issue. How are people finding their quick jacks? Was thinking of going for the 7000 series as i want to use them on a mondeo too but not sure they would fit a chim.

Post above yours ..... if a 7000 lifts my Griff, it'll do the exact same to a chim

Thanks rigga, sorry missed that thought people had used the 5000, was just thinking yours has different wheels not sure it that would make a difference. I guess you have to have the blocks at the outer edges of the lift to pick up the corner plates.

There's slots for the blocks to sit in, which gives quite a bit of lateral movement, to account for all sorts of cars that need to be lifted. I don't think I'm at the outer edge of the slot to lift the car.
17 inch wheels front and rear, which being larger than standard take up the space more at the edges of the lift, but the chassis points don't change obviously.
I position the lift so its more towards the front Tyre, as when the lift rises in a arc, it then moves away from the frame giving clearance

Perfect thanks Rigga. Sound like no issues then. Wish they done a 240v version but the 12v one isn't an issue. smile

There is a 240v version available, as I've seen videos of it (or is that in America and household voltage is different) but I use a seally powerpack for jump starting batteries, works well.

If the 7000 is an inch longer than that would be good, with the 5000 you cannot quite get the full corners on at both ends

Thanks guys. I think although the 7000 frame is an inch longer the actual block mounting points are the same. Going to do a bit of measuring as they also do frame extensions that sit on top but don't know if they would be too tall or too long.

If you look at how the quickjack sits between the wheels on mine, I don't think those extension plates will fit.

That's what i was thinking, without they will work anyway as the blocks don't have to be right on the corner. Going to pop down to Costco and have a look. smile

I was thinking that axle stands could fit inside the ramps for safety and convenience, that's how it looks to me.

They have safety locks on them already, but yes i think you could also use axle stands of you wanted to.

I have this type. If you need to work on the wheels its easy to drop one corner onto axle stand etc. They are blooming heavy though!

I’ve only just looked in on this thread thinking these things are probably a bit Mickey Mouse but actually as these pics above suggest, you could do a body off using those no problem. A couple of engine cranes or a few mates etc for a day and it’s lifted off and the chassis can be rolled away.
Handy as heck they are thumbup

I still have a pair of these kicking around, they do work well, for lifting the front or back, and I had considered getting a second pair, but felt that it would be real pain getting all four wheels on them, as they would be too high to drive on for the rear wheels. There's also quite a bit of horizontal movement when you jack them up, so you would need to be careful to balance the lifting rates between the 2 pairs.

CJ autos do have a newer version (CR06x) which look like a better option. these are lower and lift vertically so you could probably drive on with all 4 wheels.
