My motor has started to make a noise, I’m assuming the bearings are worn. (Squeaking).
Is it a pig of a job to change it? I will probably fit a new one.
Is there just one type?
I see Tvr parts have one and it isn’t bad money, mine is a 1995 model.

Couple of spots of this may be all it needs ... scratchchin

But if you want to fit a new 'un once you've gone to the trouble of getting it out I'll give you a fiver for the old one wink

While my '92 Griff' rad' was out last week for a tiny leak repair and test, I was having a peep into all the orifices like one doesrolleyes, I can just see parts of what looks like the blower motor from TVR parts.
So maybe there was only one type, I dunno.

My 99 car had to have a new one last year. My expert, lets call him Mat Smith, said you cannot get an exact match for my car, and fitted a Spal fan (I think it was), adjusting the surrounds to suit.

While he was in there he finally got to the bum, sorry, bottom, of my "no heat in the car in winter" problem. This has plagued my car ever since i got it.
My heater matrix came under his gaze and he pronounced it clogged with rubbish. A clean out later and my car is now toasty in all weathers.

And yes, replacing the blower is a bit of a pig of a job access-wise, but it is worth checking your matrix while you are in there.

Quite possibly the worst job I’ve done on the car to date, that panel with the blower motor attached to it was a ball ache to get out and pretty much the same to get back in.
All done now though and a nice quiet motor!

Yep agreed pretty stty job. If you pulling it out my advise is, remove the passenger's seat and fit a new blower motor as they're now available and you wont want to get in there twice. The attached should help.

I did it with the passenger seat in place and regretted it. Also definitely replace the motor as you don't want to be doing this again.
