Led stop and tail lights
Discussion
I bought my first led's off FleaBay. They did not last 10 minutes. After a bun fight with FleaBay & Paypal i said never again will i buy this cheap crap again.
I bought mine from Classic car led's & 2 years on are still fine.
They may still be from China but you have the option of phoning or just going to the shop & punching their lights out.
Well worth the extra to be able to do that.
I will only buy from UK companies on FleaBay.

I've been told this is a good supplier but I got this email so even more confused .
Mine is a 96 model .
Good morning, thank you for your email Daz.
The Chimaera would normally take a BAZ15D fitting for stop tail lights, however a Fiesta unit would be BAY15D so you would need to check what fitting you need.
We have both options which can be found on our website if you click on the links below:
BAZ15D
BAY15D
Please let us know if you need more assistance?
Kind regards
Duncan

I ordered BAY 15D stop/tail light LED bulbs from Fleabay back in August last year. All good so far, although interestingly I see this particular seller is no longer registered on ebay. I took the linky from another PH post around that time, can't recall where now though. Hope that helps.
I've tried a few and these are considerably better put together than the others I've tried. Many of the cheap ones I've tried the PCB holding the LEDs has melted off or the cap has deformed when fitting. Other issues I've seen are the tiny difference between the tail and stop. If they blew I'd buy the same again.
That's correct. Traditional tungsten incandescent bulbs emit a broad range of 'colours' of light, including plenty of red elements. All together, the eye sees this emission as white. When you put it behind a red plastic lens, the plastic blocks the blue and green elements and only allows the red-orange elements to pass through, resulting in red light.
White LEDs are different. They do not emit a constant spectrum of colours, but rather have several specific colours that they emit strongly while other colours are weakly emitted, if at all. The human eye still sees the light as white, but if you put a typical white LED behind a red lens, you will probably find only a little red light gets through - because so little red is emitted by that type of LED.
Red LEDs, on the other hand, are created to emit strongly in the red elements, and not much elsewhere. Their red emissions pass easily through the red plastic lens, and you see a strong red light - which is what you want for a brake light.

Again I'd recommend the same style but in the BA15S for signals You need to swap your relay at the same time to avoid the double speed flash. Whatever you do Avoid the ones like these on the other link someone posted. I bought a full set of replacement in this style and the Brakes weren't different enough from the lights and the failure rate was very high even in an occasional use car. The ones from aliexpress I linked server well in my daily and have been in for 18 months now.
In fact looking at a good number of the ones on the classiccarled I recognise as having tried and binned from china. They're clearly just reselling any old tat.
