I think the side lights are BA9s lamps. I've not tried any LEDs in these as I was waiting to swap my reflectors first. I'm not sure how they'd reflect and if they'd fill the lenses the same as regular bulbs but I've bought loads when I was trying them out in my dials I think from memory these where some of the brightest but as I say not sure how they'd reflect.

There's a number of different ones in that link but it's the ones that look like this.

I have a brake light out so I’m considering the switch to led.
Could anyone confirm the various bulb types for the rear clusters on a 1995 car?
Thanks.

I used these stop/tail LEDs on my 1995 Chimaera - no problems

I used these indicator LEDs but had to change the relay under the dash so that they blinked at the correct rate (after that no problems)

As per previous posts I've tried quite a number of ones similar looking (can't say those exact ones) to those and they've all failed in a short amount of time in my Chimaera which gets little use and even less in the dark with the lights on. The AE one's I've posted a link to, same as the last links I've now had in the Chimaera along with the same style different connector in my daily (less so at the mo) for over a year without issue.

I see no reason for overpaying for junk you could by direct from china without the middle man for a fraction of the cost.

I think these are the same bulbs direct from china. They're £2.48 for 2 delivered as apposed to £16 + shipping from the classic cars led website. They're likely be here quicker of course from the uk site but I'd be very curious if they're properly retested in the EU or if they're just posting RoSH and CE (China Export?) as place they bought them from says they are.

Thanks, I will probably give the Ali ones a go.
Someone posted about these yesterday, they look reasonable quality.

That's correct a load of the poop performing/lasting ones I tried felt and looked poorly made almost prototype or shed engineered the ones that look more like the kind of thing you'd be happy to pick off a shelf have performed much better. That said I saw some for sale in a nationwide well known auto parts retail store that looked as bad as the worst ebay one's I've seen.

I too went for the AUXITO LED tail/stop lights.

These replaced existing - which had been unsatisfactory from day 1. The offset pins would just not engage with the slots in the lampholder. I went back to the supplier and advised they were a poor fit. Commented that the pins were resistance welded during cap manufacture....but that didn't help me!

The AUXITO lamps were perfect - great fit and work well. They are made in China, but clearly, using a better process than the first pair.

I understand you need the canbus bulbs but if you have a mix of led and standard in the indicators do they behave ok?

No frown even one LED bulb fitted front or rear will cause rapid flash , side/wing not so fussy as they are only a small load anyway relative to the 21w bulbs front and rear

I have a mix of standard (front) and LED rear indicators all work perfectly if you use the £3 relay I linked to earlier

I see the headlight bulbs are decent value now but I've read they are not recommended for the beam issues.

One of my headlights failed recently so I'm going to try a pair of LED's I bought some time ago to see how good/bad the beam pattern is. I bought some that probably aren't the brightest as they have passive cooling rather than a fan. I'm sure they're find I just assume a fan will fail at some point and preferred the idea of one that will cool sufficiently with a heat sync alone.

Another vote for Duncan at Classic car LED's from me. He has always sorted me out with reliable and quality bulbs that did exactly what was asked.

Yes a different Relay is needed if swapping the 21W indicator bulbs for LED's.

+1. Duncan was most helpful.

I have recently replaced all the lights with LEDs except the indicators, all from Classic Car LEDs and all worked first time.

The beam spread of the headlights seems OK but I have an MOT in a couple of weeks so will see what the tester has to say. I did ask him prior to fitting would he be OK with LED headlights and he said that provided they have an acceptable beam pattern there would be no problem.

Rather than sticking bulbs in a 30 year old tail light can anyone think of something else newer and reasonably cheap that might fit in the hole? I was just looking at the back of one of those new fiat 500s and have an unused tube of sikaflex in my boot hehe
