Evening All

My indicators have stopped self cancelling. Have done a quick search on here and it would appear I need to remove steering wheel and do some adjustment. Anybody have any further thoughts or advice onhow to sort this problem?

Don't suppose you've just had steering uj's changed. Once had a similar problem where the uj's had been done and the steering wheel was 180 out so instead of sorting it the garage just took the csk screws out and refitted the wheel yikes
If not is it not just the stalk knackered

Hey, there is a small electrical component that the indicator stalk is connected to. It contains the self cancelling mechanism. I think it's a Vauxhall part. Cheap and very easy to replace. I don't think I removed the wheel, just a few screws to split the steering column cover and access was easy.

Now fixed and it was indeed very simple. Removed top and bottom steering wheel cowl....and low and behold the indicator unit was not properly seated. Pushed it back in and hey presto it all works as it should. 5 minutes, that all it took. Not sure why it was not seated correctly but nothing was broken.

There's a tab that pops out when indicating, as the wheel rotates this tab then connects to a bit on the wheel, and the indicator cancels, as its not pushed in properly, no contact is made.
Used to see the tabs break off now and then, just the normal usage can sometimes see the switch move out of its location, the clips that hold it in place went that strong.
