My Tamora won't start after being laid up over winter. Turns over and fired then wouldn't run...fuel pump not working - checked fuses & relays per various discussion posts. I'm suspecting the immobiliser as the central locking's not working and I'm not getting the usual beep on ignition on. Looks like a previous owner had a Laserline unit fitted about 10 years ago. Tried pulling the immobiliser fuse and disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset but still no joy. Any suggestions? Is there a way of bypassing the immobiliser to confirm it's the culprit?

Which Laserline product do you have? My Tam has the 212 alarm and 921k immobiliser and I’m working on it now as it has a fault. The immobiliser on the 921k immobilises the solenoid and fuel pump so if it’s turning over and firing you may have a dodgy connection in the wiring, either at the immobiliser or more likely at the fuel pump. The central locking is controlled by the alarm not the immobiliser. Of course if you have a different set up then what I’ve just written could be utter ste lol.
Good luck

Looks to be a 213 - combined alarm (212) and immobiliser (921K) unit.

Unfortunately can't find a diagram online

If you do decide to remove it, follow the alarm loom and cables back to their start points

The immobiliser will very likely consist of 3 pairs that break 3 circuits and the cable colours will all be black

Although the immobliser is able to break 3 circuits it is often the case that only 2 pairs are used to break 2 circuits and the 3rd pair taped up in the loom

The following link will take you to a page that shows a similar system to what's fitted in your vehcle

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1136831/Laserlin...

There shouldn't be any problem with me posting this information here as it is no secret

The time it takes a car thief to trace back through the circuits is the security

That's an identical alarm to mine. Note The 213 is a 212 coupled with the 921K, the 921K is not integral and the two together combine to make a category 1 Alarm. The 212 on its own is used to upgrade an existing Category 2 Immobiliser pre fitted to the car and these two combine to achieve Category 1 status.

It is highly likely that you have a 921k somewhere (follow the black thicker cable spliced at the alarm connector to its termination in a black data connector where it probably joins a red data connector that goes off to the 921k). If not the 212 is coupled with the previous Alarm but this is unlikely as on TVRs they were already Category 1.

Report back on what you find and I will see if I can help you. I do have the fitting instructions and user guide for this if you need it
