So, I've a tirade of small problems that I and just about at the end of and this could be the last (For now Obviously)

I had a MAF Fault come up on rover gauge so as I have a few kicking around from various projects I fitted what I believe is a good unit.
Reset fault codes.
Went for a drive, open roads, bit of traffic around town and then home almost trying to provoke a problem.
Just about to park up when the engine cuts out. - engine fans running so quite warm.
try and restart and she splutters to life but i had to press the throttle a bit to keep the revs up.
Look over at the laptop to see MAF showing between 80 and 90 %.
Engine temp drops with ignition on, fans running, after about 45 seconds start the engine again, MAF is back to normal engine ticks over fine.
At no point did I get a MAF fault code but at no point did the MAF go off scale.
MAF wiring is in good condition
1. no wire
2. red black
3.blue green
4.no wire
5. brown orange
6. blue red

Update,

Fitted a Lucas MAF from my Range Rover Classic engine. Problem solved.
Fitted the after market MAF from the Chim into the RRC and it works fine so I'm assuming that the heat soak in the Chim was affecting the MAF but now its in a bit more space in the RRC its not such a problem.
