A very good weekend of messing drinking talking st and racing
As for a std 450 you are as delusional as ever
I looked at the times earlier, nearly 2/10ths faster…… As for a std 450 you are as delusional as ever
It’s some leaderboard with some really famous names and cars. I consider it illustrious company.
Does Peter have to have his name crossed out now his cars no longer his and Mac for that matter
I bet it’s not so fast in others hands… see his 0-60 ft time, 1.66 3rd fastest out the lot. He plays table tennis, sharpe as a tack that lad
Some serious engines on that list.
It is weird how I dragged 12.7 out of it on road tyres considering how stock it is. How an MBE ecu can overcome 38mm trumpets and bog standard 4.0 heads to produce such a time is a mystery only Dom knows the answer too
Are you working or took time off to do the car. How knackered are you feeling? Lol.
I did my back in and had to cry off for two weeks at the stage your at now. Really cool seeing this thread though. It’s be the nuts.
Why David’s plenum, I thought you had made one?
Questions questions,,,,,

Still working
Got the plenum as a time saver I will still do the big boy but haven’t had chance to finish it
Road tyres? Did you not borrow Dericks on the Sunday lol
Back then it was still running clock work spark and 10 year old rubber
Hopefully this year it will get used in anger
Yes on the Sunday but I did a low 12.7 on road tyres on Saturday ( after you had broken a drive shaft) Got the plenum as a time saver I will still do the big boy but haven’t had chance to finish it

If I had raised my ride height Derek’s tyres would have netted a lower 12’s I believe as I got wicked starts then the tyres rubbed the body and I felt it slowing down.
Yeah now your on a decent Ecu I’m retiring from racing
It’s the otherside we need to see but yeah.
It’s interesting to note that on some cars with a noisy rattly top end could it just be noisy / worn pads?
You can just see the holes for the pads retaining peg to fit into, holding pad in place on the rockers.
These pads are often loose enough to fall out. I suppose a tell tale sign would be wear marks on top of your pushrods and pads if they indeed can rattle. They are not fixed hard. Do these pads ever have the pressure released off them as cam turns enough to promote them vibrating?
What might be constituted as a little end bearing rattle might actually be this or am I grasping at straws for the 500 boys here
Get my drift anyone?

The pads are all good and a lot less play between the shaft and the rockers

Hyd cam has 0 lash so unless the follower is bleeding down whist running (sticking/faulty etc they should not rattle loose) unless the valves go into float at high RPM unlikely IMO the double springs in the TVR are plenty heavy , keep up th good fight Peter here to feast your eyes on one I witnessed bog stock 500 she was tapping away like Sammy Davis Jr It’s interesting to note that on some cars with a noisy rattly top end could it just be noisy / worn pads?
