5 hours into TVR ownership and I have my first issue. laugh

Just been out for a drive, got home and the passenger door won’t close. Makes all the clicky noises from the solenoid, the hoop lines up with the slot but before it catches it feels like it’s hitting something solid? Got me confused so hoping there’s something obvious I’m missing.

Please help otherwise I’m sleeping in it tonight.

Lock and un lock again with the remote and try again.

Or give the knob in the middle a wiggle

When I had this although it looked like it was latching some of the allen bolts were loose.

Yeah, you'll have pressed it trying to open the boot and then thought you had another problem when it didn't open!

I've had mine for 15 years. Yesterday I worked out that on the central vents, one opens by rotating the control downwards, on the other one it's upwards. I suspect that, at some point in the distant past, I may have worked this out before...

I had it on my '95 Chimaera, but the feature was deleted by my '98 car.

It was an extra blower switch next to the boot release.

Right the problem is back and feels like something I should be able to sort if I wasn’t so quite mechanically inept.

Do I need to adjust the door or the keep? I’m currently at work with limited tools (a set of needle nose pliers and a multi driver) so is there anything I can do right now to fix it?

Does look like the striker isn’t far enough to the right as you look at that video.
You can test the latching with a large screwdriver or similar diameter metal item to the striker to see if it grabs.

It definitely grabs and releases fine when I use a screwdriver. Both the interior knob and the door button work fine and to door looks pretty well aligned when it was closed.

Just not sure if it’s ok to loosen off the three Allen bolts to adjust it or whether the keep is knackered.

Looks more like door adjustment to me but see what others think.
What is the panel gap like when the door is closed?

It looks ok to me, but I don’t really have much in the way of reference. It has shut OK a bunch of times (and was closed when I picked the car up this morning).

It sounds really stupid but I’ll try again later when the car has cooled down. I’m coming round to the idea it’s the door that needs adjusting (moving further towards the rear of the car) but this is not a job I really fancy taking on.
