Hi, I purchased my Griffith partly disassembled and am rebuilding it. I am about to mount the seats and like to know if they only are bolted to the fiberglass floor or is there is a supporting bracket used under the body, giving additional strength?

The underbody seens to allow for a bracket, but I have not seen such brackets….

Anyone here who knows?

If it's anything like its stablemates the Chimera and Cerbera, just bolted through the fibreglass... although some have added straps, sometime welded, sometimes bolted to the chassis, others advocate the use of large 'penny' washers both sides of the floor.
This was being discussed last week on another thread, here's the link....

Yes, seats bolt through the flimsy, thin GRP floor tub. Not to the chassis.

I can highly recommend adding another layer or two of GRP to the seating tub areas. I did this on both the S and the Wedge and it was a good improvement.

However, I will be adding straps across the chassis and threaded bushings throiugh the tub when the chassis refurbs are done. This is how they were done in the T-cars onwards.

Where in Sweden are you?

I am considering to add two strips of metal that clamp around the chassis-tube close to the front seat bolt holes.

I am in Trollhättan.

We're off to Stockholm just after Easter to stay with family.

Not sure there is the space to clamp around the chassis tube on the outrigger.

I'll be welding 4mm flat plate between the outrigger and the central chassis rail. Then adding threaded bosses.
