Subwoofer. Where?

Yep, I've got the source sorted as I've got two Pioneer headunits to choose from at home. The source from these is excellent and I've proven so by replacing somebody's Clarion in a 106 with a Pioneer unit and not touching anything else... you wouldn't have known you were sat in the same car such was the scale of the difference!
I've got the original puny Pioneer speakers running on bell wire too and they are some of the worst speakers I've heard in ages. Re the woven carbon cones, I've only ever heard JBL's efforts a few years ago and didn't rate them, why are they reckoned to be good? I quite liked the aluminised Kenwood cones instead at the time and fitted a pair of their 3? ways to a previous soft top which sounded great... if only I'd removed them when I sold it!

If you're going to fit components, I've had Alpine R-Type components in my last car, they cost about £110 a pair but sound fantastic. Not sure you would be able to fit them in Chim doors though, at least not with the grilles, and you would need to run them from an amp for the best sound.

I don't really want to go down the component route because of the hassle of fitting the crossovers and tweeters.
What's worse is that I'm moonlighting in the Chim forum, they'll be fitted in Griff doors!

Plus of course the consideration that crossovers are not always waterproof, and TVR doors tend to let in and retain a fair bit of it unless you drill extra drainage holes...

Hi ray-von, glad to see you are still active on pistonheads.
My question is, did you ever fit Genesis speakers or amps to a TVR.?
Crikey thread resurrection. Yes I fitted a Genesis Dual mono with Focal components they were fantastic, the current owner still has them, if he doesn't he has cloth ears From 2007.

That’s a great combo. Any owner wouldn’t need to upgrade them.
I’m sure they did sound fantastic.
I would love to have heard them.
I have recently inherited a pair of Genesis amps. (4 way, and a sub amp) and a sub.
Which I have now connected up.
Sounds and feels great.
Components for the front are next on my list.
Can you remember where you fitted your genesis amp?
