Hi guys anyone have any ideas where i could squeeze in a sub speaker/cab which won interfere with the roof stowage?

I was thiking using 2x 8inch subs and mounting them infinite baffle style in the behind-the-seat cubby holes, anyone done this? I know the recess isnt huge but if the speakers were mounted on wooden baffles covered in complimentary carpet, and the recesses were packed with wadding it might just give me a good tight mid bass if not reaching the depths of sub bass??

pictures and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris,
i have two 8" JL subs mounted above the fuel tank in a small enclosure, trimmed to match the boot and ported through the rear vents.Sounds great and you wouldn't know it's there(apart from the noise, obviously)

That sounds like a good install, nice and Stealthy. Do you have any photos?

Sounds great, does the enclosure compromise the roof stowage at all? I think 8"s will be fine too. I have upgraded the factory speakers to 6"fusion 3 ways (rear) and 6" fusion components in the front. I love the sound of the V8 but sometimes i want to feel the music too, not heaps of sub necessarily but a nice kicking mid/low bass.

MY DAD JUST HAD A SUB - WOOFER RIGHT BEHIND THE DRIVERS SEAT. YOU WOULD THINK THERE WOULD BE THAT ANNOYING BOMM BOOM BOOM FROM THE BASS BUT YOU CAN HARDLY FEEL A THING. THE TWO VENTS BEHIND THE SEATS ARE ALSO A GREAT PLACE TO PUT TWO EXTRA SPEAKERS. HOPE THAT HELPS MATE jester

Ive seen the pioneer ultra low profile 8 inch subs which have a mounting depth of 2 1/2 inches they look ideal, also there is a six inch SAS bazooka tube which looks very compact

http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/25/130/TS-SW8... these do look good and apparantly perform well.
