Sorry for the lack of replies all - back on line after a house move.

I tried a few combinations of wheels and spacers for the Ford RS alloys so if you have any other queries, please ask smile

When you fitted the Sp12's did you need to hacksaw 6mm off the centre wheel thread to get the caps on?

Where did you get the front spoiler from for the Chimaera?

I o riginally bought the splitter from Croydon race and rally.I dont know if they are still trading. The front end always tended to get a bit light at speed.Fitted this right the way along with 10mm nuts and bolts and seemed to resolve the issue.

Those were the widest i could go on the rear.I originally wanted a 10.5.But it would have created rubbing issue on the rear up right.

How did it handle with such wide rubber?

Very, very well.I could throw it in to the bends better than the old Bidgestones that were on it,with not a hint of tail out action.I was even a match once for a well sorted Esprit Turbo on the track. And this was on a factory suspension set-up.

As matter of interest did the front splitter make any difference?

Inspired by the first Ford RS post, I've done the deed. Soft cut, not diamond cut but I really like the look. Wheels off eBay then new Toyo's have set me up for the summer!

Nasty weather, not the best light and not clean but I couldn't resist... biggrin

First time I've posted a picture too so go easy if its wrong!

I'm not really into aftermarket alloys, however, i think these look great, almost a modern variation on teh Estril theme just slimmer taller & more contemporary. What about handling etc ?

Thats the reason I went for them. Not a fan of aftermarket wheels on Chimaeras (each to their own though wink) but love the look of the RS 7 spokes - just update the car and I believe are in keeping with the original look. Handling has felt unaffected so far, maybe more planted and a little more solid on the road (no major tramlining or adverse effects) but only had one dry run and a decidedly wet run this morning rolleyes so jury out until some dry roads and bit of sun give me chance for a bit of a hoon. Still scrubbing the new tyres in anyway.

Liking the softlines RS7's, probably a bit closer to the Estoril than the diamond cuts......

Popped out for a qualifing lap today and remembered the camera....

Still learning the grip levels, the fronts don't seem bad to say they are cheap and nasty Koren nastyness (but with a nice looking tread pattern paperbag, it's not my fault they were on the rims when I got them) the back, now wearing Bridgestone RE050's seems as driftable as it ever was but probably a little more 'vocal' than the Toyos.

Just found out the diamond cut RS7 was available in a 16" which I think would look better on the front, keeping the 1" differance like standard, if the set I've seen doesn't go to silly money and the service/MOT next week goes without raping my wallet I might look into fitting a set of 16" fronts. scratchchin
