Bit of a strange question but I need some advice I think. I've always been a TVR nut, but am selling my chimaera currently. My plan is to pop the TVR money plus 30k into a vantage. All was going well until my son said...erm Dad didnt you like aero 8's. Bugger. Bugger yes I do. What's it like to live with, not as a daily but not a garage queen either....and can I get a decent one for 40k? Thanks in advance!

They are very good value for money IMHO at the moment but you do need to get it get it checked over independently as some of the parts now require remaking due to lack of availability. I'm a Classic Plus 8 owner but know several owners that have lots of fun with their Aero's.

For a better guide on what to check for and generally living with one check out Talkmorgan if you are not familiar with the site already, good luck it's always brave being different but being a TVR man I don't need to tell you that .

I’ve had a couple, you would not believe the attention they get, allow an extra 20 minutes at every fuel stop to discuss with interested bystanders.
I’d recommend test driving a couple, they are more GT than sports car and suspension is pretty firm making the ride a bit uncomfortable on poor road surfaces.
Depreciation is negligible so you should be able to run one for a year or two without it costing you too much.
Oh, And the noise is epic! particularly with side pipes.

I have an Aero +8 (an Aero 4.8 V8 with a traditional +8 body).

Great car to live with, handles well and is rapid.

Moderately costly to run in that anything on a Morgan seems to cost a fair amount - but very easy to live with.

I can honestly say that I enjoy owning a Morgan more than any of the supercars I've had - it's much more usable and gets a lot of love on the road. smile

Now THAT I like. Doubt if I'd get one for 40k though? Or could I......*offtosearchclassifieds*

There was a red Plus8 for sale last month for £79k. The new plus8 not Rover engined. I believe it was owned by someone who worked for Morgan. I remember chatting to him at Prescott Hill Climb a couple of years ago and it may be the only red one.
Someone did manage to buy the factory demonstrator for £69 k or thereabouts a couple of years ago. Not many come up for sale though. Maybe the new Plus6 will stimulate some part ex and generate used numbers for sale.
Both Aero8 and Aero Plus8 are awesome drives.
I am working on man maths for the Plus6......

£40k would get you a series1 Aero8.
