MG TF FAULT

Hi I have a MG TF and the engine light stays on - i have had it checked at the garage on their machine and it comes up with unidentified fault?
the car cuts out after 1/2 mile and this has been happening for the last month. any ideas? help please?

Change your garage ?

Engine faults should be able to be identified by a decent garage, it's probably some sensor or its wiring that has failed.

I'll 2nd that, sounds like you have a 'crap garage' fault, try another garage or google mg rover specialist in your area, someone who has experience with those cars may be able to help better but a competent mechanic should find the problem, if your in the Yorkshire area then try milestone motors in middlestown, the guy who owns and runs the place is ex rover MG master tech and breaths MG rovers
