MGB electrics

[SILICONEKID 357HP]

I purchased a restored car which had been stored for 12 years .
electrical problems .

It's a78 Roadster ,problems are

No supply to radiator fan stat (in top of radiator)
Heater fan does not work
Indicators do not work
Screen wash does not work
Cables from steering column are getting warm

Help appreciated.

Compared to a modern car the MGB electrics are simple, but due to age, insulation may be worn in places and connectors may not connect due to corrosion. Old style cartridge fuses can also appear sound..... but not connect. Get a good clear circuit diagram or Haynes manual and work systematically through the circuits with a good tester. Or find a good "old school" auto electrician.
