Hi guys,

I am just wondering if I am able to fit HS4 SU Twin carbs onto a 1972 MG Midget 1275cc engine?

I know the engine usually uses HS2 carbs but can HS4 be used instead? And if so, do any other adjustments need to be made?

Thanks

Ah, twin inch and a halfs. Those were the days....

More info for you here on suitability and jetting (as it will otherwise be overfuelling)

I've had twin 1 1/2" SU's on my 1098 engined Mk1 frogeye for many (40+) years but it also has a 731 cam, mildly ported head and LCB tubular exhaust. It is not necessarily the best option..... but it looks the part.

1.3/4" HIF & MG Metro manifold is the way to go ! Plenty of aftermarket manifolds to the same spec available. Twin inch n 'arfs is overcarbed really.
