Help adjusting door

I need help adjusting my drivers door....don’t ask why!

I can’t get it to fit correctly without the front of the door getting VERY close to the front wing. Are there any PH’ers that can help or recommend a garage near SW London/Surrey that can do this for me....I’m at my whits end!

Did you play with it before hand, or has it always been like this since you've had it? Has the door skin, been replaced, the rear wing? Is the front guard too far back?

It was perfect, no issues at all, before I knocked the door and it moved it where the hinge attaches to the door behind the door panel (3 posidrive screws). Then I took the door off and the hinges (I removed the splash guard inside the wheel arch etc). Now, although when the door is closed everything look fine including all the gaps, when I try to open it it comes too close to the front wing and rubs!

I’ve tried shimming it but just can’t master the dark art of lining everything up! I don’t think anything has been bent.

Bit the bullet and took it to an MG specialist body shop for the work to be done. My insurance company are footing the £850 bill!!!!

WHAT... £850 to adjust a door? I'm in the wrong job...

I hope you're getting the door and wing repainted for that price?

Yep.... Its taken three weeks to do, should be getting it back tomorrow.

I think the door internals must have been bent.
