Wonder what it was compared against, probably the aging MX5. Doesn't NCAP testing cost a load, so most low volume manufactures won't be bothering with it I imagine.

Was the Elise tested? Anybody got a link to the NCAP results?

They've only tested 5 roadsters (their term, not mine), the Audi TT, Honda S2000, Mazda MX-5, Merc SLK, MGTF, all of which scored 4 stars.
Incidently, the TT didn't score 1 star on pedsetrian safety, the others scoring 1, with the exception of the MGTF which scored 3.

So "All other sports cars registered just a single star!" doesn't mean all other sports cars at all....

The doom and gloom mob are out. Its still a good result, congratulations MG. It would be interesting to know how the MR2 would perform being mid engined also.

Another 1st class from MG Rover. Funny how people get away with knocking MG, X-Power and Peter Stevens. It seems as it is one rule for the British and another for our European friends.

Does this mean 'all other sports cars' will be treated to enormous dodgem-style rubber impact bumpers? I can't begin to imagine the mess they'd make with the Elise.

God forbid they test an elise - it will probably fall to bits if it hits the average 3 year old.
