My project MGB GT.

Looking good, better than mine currently!
All of the drivers side is now done but further rot and evidence of poor repairs have been found on the passenger side so it's all stripped out now and we have new Heritage panels to go in (rear wheel tub, complete rear wing and new sills).
I've changed my username btw
Driver side a few days ago...
Passenger side looking rather bare!
Looks can be deceptive, all that rot under a pretty looking body, this is how it looked before the rebuild.

Lovely, is that colour Old English White?
Mine was Tartan Red but I'm considering a colour change.
Looking on my phone, it looks like primrose.Mine was Tartan Red but I'm considering a colour change.
It's a nice colour.
I'm trying to decided what I'd like best which is proving difficult!
It should be all stripped (glass & dash out), zinc galvanise primed inside and underneath and all stone chip protected & ready for paint within the next 2 weeks.
The motivation is definitely still there, alas having the available time seems to be what's defeating me so snatching hours when I can.
My new fuel tank turned up yesterday so rather looking forward to lying on cold concrete and getting the rear end all rebuilt this weekend, then it's just the bodywork... it will be finished for next summer ...he says

A quick update....
I have the car back at home now but looking rather sorry for itself in a mix of red and primer.
I'm awaiting a slot at the body shop for it to go in for fettling and respray and fitting the glass and all external trim. They will also be fitting a new boot floor and rear panel.
I've chosen Aston Martin Silver Birch for the colour.

Sounds like good progress.
Must confess I've not heard of the colour so be interesting to see what it looks like.
Alas mine has gone backwards to go forwards... but in reality more upside down. The sills weren't exactly 'solid' so have decided to sort them as well while I'm at it.
Have found a myriad of labels on the panels which seemingly have been replaced before, Oct 98 from the one on the outer sill.
I have also found one with a label detailing a Mr P Lomas, Normandy Cresent, Radcliffe, Manchester... A former owner or perhaps last restorer... alas can't find anything when searching.

That makes me worry what mine looks like beneath its shiny paint..All of the drivers side is now done but further rot and evidence of poor repairs have been found on the passenger side so it's all stripped out now and we have new Heritage panels to go in (rear wheel tub, complete rear wing and new sills).

Any further updates on this?
Not too much at the moment. It's now at the bodyshop for the rest of the panel work and painting and a new dash to be painted and fitted.
I'll post some photos when they get going on it and I've had time to visit them (they are about 40 mins from me).
I'm off to collect a new engine, box, overdrive, exhaust, carbs etc soon
It's at the bodyshop now.
The welder who did all the new panels has welded them incorrectly (too strong at the outside and week in the interior) so that it will not deform as it should in a collision. They are re-welding the affected areas. The same guy also buggered up all the glass by not covering it during welding and cutting out and it's all pitted now
It'll add to the time and cost a bit but not the end of the world.

Update!
The MGB hasn't progressed and has just sat inside the body shop in the corner but they are about to start it.
I have used this time to change my mind on the colour
I was going to go for Healey Blue (as in Austin Healey) but some of the colours to make it up are no longer available.
So, I'm going with Porsche Minerva Blue (if it's still available).

you must've been listening in on conversations I've been having with my mrs this week about the exact same topic and the exact smae colour. I'm still undecided between going the custom route or sticking to OE white.
If I go blue I think it'll be slightly more subtle so darker but with a metallic fleck as well, something like oxford blue metallic or tahiti.
