Delivered my car to radical yesterday with engine problems after only 8 running hrs.
Waiting to hear what's wrong with it after they have stripped it down.
Anyone else having same issues ?

The shortstroke has plenty of issues. Push them to rebuild it to longstroke if possible.

Does that mean you get the warranty contribution thingy?

I'm hoping so Bert but they started out quoting 6.5k !
They have been very good so far but until they open the engine up I don't know...
Not sure the warranty carries much weight nowadays due to the problems associated with the short stroke engine.
Keeping my fingers crossed they do the honourable thing.....
Watch this space !

warranty is supposedly now full warranty for the full hours according to an email I got, not declining according to hours.I believe they are trying to stop the quibbling.
Everybody I have spoken to with short strokes have been changed to long when refreshing.

Wow that's very good although I am not sure why.

If an engine life is 40 hours and it goes pop at 39 hours, it doesn't seem fair on Radical to get another full 40 hours for free.

There again 40hrs with probably far less than half that on load is not much.

The new warranty does seem to cover for the whole duration, as opposed to reducing over time. If it is honoured, it will also cover 3rd party costs such as shipping.

The terms and conditions mean you'll have to be extremely lucky to have any warranty work done though

I can't remember exactly, but I think it was about 2/3-3/4 of the run time was on load when I was in the game. So prob about 30 hours out of 40. That's not too dissimilar to the pinto in my FF2000. 35 hours race time is about it and it needs shells and valves (not quite the same cost as a RPE motor!)

That's interesting what are the constraints?
