Hi all, before asking RPE I was wondering if there is any place I could find out information regarding the 1585 such as for example the compression ratio, etc.
Cheers

I'm with Gordon :-)

Depends what info you need and it used to vary from engine to engine but I would estimate to the compression ratio to be in the region of 13-13.5:1.

That's interesting, what do the normal 1500's run?

Standard 1500 is around 13:1. They were always fairly careful even on 'tuned' engines due to variations in fuel and temps that people would run at etc

I don't know anything really about how engines are designed. but 13:1 is a high compression ratio for engines that happily run on super unleaded. How do they do that?
