All.

Had my side pod off to repair and drain compressor tank of water (normal service). Discovered once pod back on compressor not operational.
Trouble shooting reveals the following. We have 12v both on power side and control side of the relay. Relay tests OK off the car. On the expected negative terminal on relay the wire is orange not black. There is no continuity between this wire and ground. Running a separate ground wire to the orange wire terminal get the compressor running (only tried for say 30 secs). I am concerned that this orange wire is not a straightforward ground wire, is it switch via ECU or pressure switch on compressor tank. I know its not too common to switch the negative but I have seen it before. Anybody with experience with this that could help me.

Thanks in advance

Still to check out and confirm but thinking about it, the negative will be switched through the pressure switch...( I think ). Now to strip out the PS.

If it's on Life then the PS compressor relay will be driven by the ECU.

Failed PS pressure sensor will mean no compressor run. It would be worth connecting to the car and viewing the P_SYS value (if memory serves) and if this reads failed or 9.9 then start your investigation there.
