Thanks for the info! Is there a cheaper route than buying them through the factory?

Possibly. If you're racing, you have to buy from the factory. You might also want to look at the 'road-lega' trackday tyres if you're not after all-out speed. These will undoubtably have a harder compound so should last longer.

Hi. Excellent to have a Radical forum courtesy of PistonHeads.

I was hoping to buy an SR3 in early March as I have decided this has to be the way to go given that I only really drive on the track now. I need to sell my Caterham Superlight R500 first as I was recently let down by a buyer so have had to advertise the car. So, if any of you know of someone looking for an R500 please lt them know that mine is advertised in the classified section of this site.

Good to have a radical forum ! Nildram, hi we raced against each in 2002 in the radicals and I hear that we are part of the same team for 2003!
Are you going to Guadix with woody?

Hi Tony,

Yep, I'll be in Guadix with Woody, but not the following weekend with Radical - what about you?

Danny/Andrew
If you're going to trailer anyway, why didn't you consider buying an ex-race ?

(and the obviousl question - why not just club together anb buy one between you ?)

Hi Beast

Briefly considered a second hand SR3 but there don't seem to be many around, and those that do come up aren't much cheaper than new ... too impatient to wait a year or so. Plenty of Clubsports or Prosports around though.

Share, with Danny, have you seen how he drives?

More seriously, we did talk about it as an option but I think we just wanted the freedom of our own. And this way we have a spare car, of sorts, between us!

You thinking of one?

...no, I'm thinking of begging both of you for a ride as passenger.

(and yes I know Danny can't drive to wipe his backside but if he lets me sit in on a couple of laps i'll lie about anything)

As much as I'd like one, I am unfortunately saddled with Mrs who wants "a couple of extensions", but I'd also miss the just getting the car out the garage for a "Gordon Ramsey".

Hey, be nice to me, I'm going to have to learn a whole new driving style! I'm sure that back wing will come off for some more oversteer

Buying a car each means we both have spares, but I also really wanted (the probably rarely exercised) option of pootling around in the sun on the road when I fancied it. Unfortunately, although Andrew isn't that far away the traffic is pretty bad - about 3 hours round trip with a trailer .

Besides, if the Cerbie goes, I want something nice to tinker with instead.

Would be nothing like 3 hours round trip if you bought that nice house in Ashenden though?

PS. What are you doing about bleedin' ferries then?
