Before owners of XK convertibles try stuffing labradors into their boots, note he's talking about the coupe...!
Ha ha yes, coupe, not the rag top.

My 2 6 foot kids don't like the back seats mind you smile

Seats down and parcel shelf out, hound will have loads of room.

I fit two greyhounds comfortably in the boot of a late 70s Scirocco on occasion.

My two had been complaining for year about the space in the back of my X300, but when I suggested that I'd like an XKR convertible they were both in the back seats in the showroom like a shot "See Dad we fit fine"
I'm not sure that I've ever had them both in the back since I bought it though.

But if it was practical it would be boring, like all those 'sensible' cars... Not being able to get stuff in the boot is part of the pleasure of ownership biggrin

Bloody good thing too, why have a toy and they spoil it by letting the kids in.

No kids here - but I can tell you that the back seats are perfect for carrying large bags of bark mulch. The Amazonian woman at the garden centre put them in; getting them out was a bit tricky though.

Any chance of fitting a full suspension mountain bike in the back? Do the rear seats only fold in some models? For reference I used to put my bike in the back of a MK1 Audi TT. Cheers

No. Not if you're asking about a normal adult bike.

Edit: the seats don't fold in any XK models

A ski flap should have been possible - but that part of the rear seat holds a fusebox.

Modern skis might have fitted, but I don't suppose the designers felt that the cabin was long enough to have a couple of pairs of 2002-era skis poking through a hatch.

Convertible no problem (roof down drop onto seats) once you've removed the front wheel, coupe a bit more difficult as you have to get it through the door and round the seat. Turn the bars to 90 degrees. Bike bag for when it's dirty? Cushion or padding under the front forks to avoid damage. You might be better off with a bike rack though wink

I don't ski, but it would be very useful to carry long bits of wood etc back from B&Q smile

I guess rear seats don't fold down in any convertibles because they need more body strength.

Don't know about the tin top, but on the convertible there is a bloody great stiffening cross member bolted across behind the seats, under that is the battery (you have to remove the cross member to change the battery). I'm more sure whether there is more gubbins between the seat and the boot. I think in my X300 the fuel tank is in there somewhere.
