I put a deposit down on this today:

Decided to go back to one car after running a V8V and this as my daily for the last year. Hopefully the F type will be a decent daily!

Now you've done it you'll be hooked for life.
Everyone should have a chance to drive or own an XJS.

Lovely looking in all Black thumbup I totally agree It is an awesome car for the money. I still haven't really driven mine yet properly or managed to get some decent photos. It has rained heavy EVERY day, if I even think about driving it, it rains again or a heavy shower! So posting these original ones for the time being.

That looks to me to be signal red. It was quite a popular colour on the XJ40 at one point.

Agreed, that is beautiful. Trying my best to convince my wife I need an XJS to go with my XKR...

Well yes it does sound better wink
Obviously it is not as focused as the GTR, and whilst the GTR is undeniably quicker, the Ftype is very close, I'd say from a rolling start there wouldn't be a lot in it.

I'd had GTR's for 6 years or so, and so it's taking me a little while to get to grips with the Ftype and really become confident however it is.

Nearly as quick.
Looks a lot better.
Sounds better, unless the GTR is absolutely on it.
Is a more comfortable ride, in dynamic it is smoother than the GTR in comfort! However this does not inspire as much confidence in the corners.
The ftype steering is overly light and needs more feedback.
Much nicer place to sit, it was good getting down into a car again.
Fit and finish are better.
Cheaper to get the ftype to 600+bhp wink
The boot is smaller (important, I'm having trouble getting my guitar and amp in).
I'm still not sure about the gearbox, I drive on paddles 90% of the time and the novelty of 8 gears means I keep finding myself having to change down a long way to overtake!

In summary. If I was driving at 10 10ths all day then I'd miss the GTR, however I don't so I'm not. I think as I get used to the way the car steers and corners and how the gear ratios/power band stuff stacks up then I'll really grow to love it. I just need more miles in it.
