I picked up my F-Type last weekend and looking to join a popular forum. Ideally with plenty of F-type knowledge and perhaps with local meets and shows.

Suggestions?

I can't speak for the F-type specific content but I've been a member of XKEC and I can't say I find it particularly good value, certainly not for the later alloy-body cars. The collective technical knowledge is pretty limited, I get better answers through www.jaguarforum.com. I've decided not to renew after this year.

www.jaguarforum.com seems to be very good, also the more US-centric www.jaguarforums.com is good too.

Got to agree with 8bit ..... I'm another former member.

If you buy an X100 then the XKEC is a font of knowledge .... or at least one of the members is.
You'll nearly always get a quicker response than other forums.

For the later alloy and F-types then it's not much use.

On the plus side you do get the chance to take the mickey out of a certain banana inspired personage!
For some it's worth paying just for that privilege ..... personally I'd rather support non-profit making enterprises.

The top one is a smaller breakaway forum from the other one although many members post on both.

A vast wealth of knowledge on both and regular meets.

Not sure about F-types (as the OP has) but I looked on jaginfo.org when I got my XKR and that section was almost deserted. Does seem a bit better for XF owners but not sure how it compares to jaguarforum.com.

jaginfo got infiltrated by a bunch who were kicked out of jaguarforum for being disruptive. They then disrupted jaginfo, and the mods never really sorted it, and instead effectively divided the forum to keep the guys who like to say goodnight to each other on a separate thread away from the guys who treat it like a forum. Jagchat have not allowed this disruption, and although still early days and quiet is a far better place. Most of the expertise is on both, or has moved over too.

Is the JEC a payment only thing or can you register to post on there without paying the 50 quid.

It's been a while since I was a member of the JEC but IIRC I had to stump up to access the forums. That's another one I'd say was better for owners of older cars, I didn't find a lot of interest for me with my 2008 XKR.

Ta thanks for that.
Added to say, it's not much fun looking at mis-described cars up and down the country!

Well jaguarforum.com certainly is free, most members are UK based and from what I gather there is a pretty active section for X350 and X358 owners. If you're looking for someone to go check out a car for you then you can always ask, depending where you're looking you'll probably find someone happy to help. I'm an XKR owner but I'm in Aberdeen, if there's something not too far from here on your radar then I'll have a look if I can.

That very nice of you cheers.
I registered on Jaguar forums awhile back and have found it very handy so far for info. Having done a 400 mile round trip to Leeds to view a very disappointing Super V8 which on a walk round by the dealer on the phone was a described as " only having the odd stone chip" but had peeling paint on two doors, blisters and scrapes etc I'm finding my enthusiasm waning.
Found a lovely XJR, but its had a map and exhaust, and due to data protection I'm getting nowhere finding out exactly what was done.
Still, West Ham won last night so all is not bad !
