No, and they don't fit them on the F-Type SVR either I believe. I doubt it's got anything to do with weight saving in reality but probably more to do with cooling?

Quite possibly I believe but have no evidence to support that they hold heat in , still surprised they didnt fit a nice carbon one though like the -RS versions though

Yup, I’ve had a look online and it appears SVR cars are sans engine cover. I agree, it would look better with a nice carbon shield.

But both those pics show the pins fitted that the cover locates into , if there is no cover why fit the pins ?

I've seen plenty of cars without covers but they have been "lost" while in the trade

The DMS ECU upgrade will take the big Jag's mill from around 545bhp to 600bhp for around £1,000 + VAT. Something to ponder over the weekend...!

I have a remap and pulley on my XFR and it made 606hp on a dyno . Some of the claims from companies are a bit ambitious

That's what I was thinking...if I go ahead then an independent dyno test before and after will definitely be on the cards.

I’m firmly on the fence with upgrades to the XFR. My R-S is already on the limit with grip, so any power upgrade will make it even more twitchy in the wet. But I guess you get the pub bragging rights biggrin

Is the lift for the suspension or for you biggrin
When my uncle picked a friend up from the airport in a Beamer his friend commented "I see the knees got to old to drive the Jaguar now"

Hello Simon and original owner, great to hear from you.

Wow, 6k for a front splitter - crazy! That’s going to be a pain isn’t it....looks like I’m going to have to be v careful. My former GT2 and GT3RS has motorsport rubber splitters which make all the difference.

I haven’t driven the Jaguar yet since I broke my ankle plus the weather’s horrible. What were your overall impressions of the car?

Hi Benny, the car was awesome for the little i used it,i loved the beast, that sound was epic and i had no intentions of selling it but after 3 years plus of ownership and the wife calling another museum piece it was time to go,i have a freind with a 400 miler so can always buy into again if so wish, but boy oh boy that blasted front splitter its a nightmare. My gt4 was bad but nothing compared to the jag,the gt4 rubber spolier was about 180 pounds and my gt3 rs about the same but the jaguar being svo built is a license to print money for JLR.You enjoy but be careful very careful with the front end especially when heading downhill off a ferry or car park.

cheers simon

Thanks Simon, I have Le Mans planned for the Jaguar in June via the Eurotunnel (I'm based in Surrey). I will book the larger, flat truck and van carriage as normal but I imagine I'm still going to have to be super careful on the concrete ramps leading down to and up from the train? What technique do you recommend - just go super slow? Cheers, Ben

So, I took the Jaguar XKR-S GT out for a first drive this morning. Impressions? Lots of character, very smooth and very big: a bit like captaining a powerful motor boat (I'm used to sports cars and not sports GTs)! Engine is a monster, it just gathers speed effortlessly and has a wonderful V8 bellow. The ceramic brakes are strong. Nicely weighted steering but little feel. Feels very similar to a previous steed, an Aston Martin Vantage V12S, in many respects. The 6-speed auto 'box actually surprised me though: smooth and quick to respond to the flappy paddles. So much better than the Aston's single clutch robotic 'box. It will be a lovely thing to drive down to the Le Mans test day later this year. Not much grip until temperatures are up. I got a dose of oversteer exiting my driveway this morning, which was fun...no doubt the special chassis and Pirelli Corsa tyres will come into their own during the summer months.

Simply wow. Keep the posts coming, as well as the photos. Get a personal plate on it! Incidently which dealer registered/sold it first?

My father has the plate ‘V8 POW’ - he had it on a 1980s Aston Martin V8 Volante ‘Prince of Wales’ which he has now sold - which he has offered me. I think I’ll take it for the Jaguar smile

Yes, I always take the Eurotunnel coach single deck train too. Good to hear it can still get on and off.

Thanks for the offer of the plate but I’m now obligated to take my father’s plate V8 POW!
