After a few months searching (and a question on here to see if I had missed any places to look) I have found what I hope is the right XK for me and paid a deposit on it this afternoon. Unusual Caviar Red colour (only the second I have seen advertised and the first sold before I had chance to see it).

More details soon.

I'd overlooked XKs for years because I hankered for an Aston. But last year I found myself in an XK conv as a sort of distress purchase and now I prefer them - and a fraction of the cost. MIne's an everyday car and I can also take it to shows, and the fact it has only two proper seats and a tiny boot doesn't seem to matter.

Enjoy your steed; wait until you can get the roof down smile

Sunday was dry and bright, had a lovely run with the roof down. The heater works well, the seats are heated, the steering wheel is heated. Pop on a coat and topless life is good.

Likewise, I was worried about the packing space before I bought mine, but it's never been an issue. Since the rear seats don't have people in them they make good loading space for bags if you need more luggage. It's all nicely hidden when you've get the wind deflector fitted. Oh yes, you'll want a wind deflector.

Make sure you get them to throw in a wind deflector!

I can cope at motorway speeds well enough without a hairstyle protector - 17 years of TVRs have evidently toughened me up!

It has a wind deflector! Fitted one to the XK8 I had and really appreciated the difference. Test drove this one on Saturday top down and top up, the heater steering wheel is great!
