Additional keys for 91 XJS

Just bought a rather nice 91 xjs with 32500 miles on the clock - Japanese import through Seymour and Pope .Arrived with only 1 key and whilst ebay has people who copy transponder ignition keys I am not sure whether the 91 has a transponder and I can’t see anybody advertising keys for this year. Any ideas ? Thanks

Japanese spec's cars could well be different to UK ones, if they don't know what sort of key you need you could try someone like SNG Barrat.

Car is a stunner and surprisingly comfortable on the 400 mile journey home . Got a rear view camera incorporated in the mirror and a decent radio with blue tooth phone capability built in and it’s as good as a modern car but more distinctive.

Pretty sure XJS never had transponder keys.
Best thing to do is buy a key with a transponder. Get it cut. Try it.
Then if needs be get it programmed.
You might need to find someone with a PDU !!

Either way at least you will have a spare door and ignition key that will get you in the car and unlock the steering.
