Hi All,

Apologies if the topic has been covered before - I did a search and couldn't see anything...

Anyway, pretty much as per the thread title, but a bit of background for those who like it.

I've had my 2006 XK for a couple of years now. Recently it has started showing a fault "Check Pedestrian Protection System" but it only comes up in hot weather (over 25 degrees c). A bit of internet research and it seems likely to me that it's one of the 3 bumper sensors. I'd like to know which one before either tackling it myself (if it's not too big of a job) or taking it to my local independent Jag specialist.

I've looked on Ebay for code readers and saw this one and I wondered if anyone has any experience with it (or the like) or has any recommendations? Will it tell me what I want to know?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like a cheap knock-off of one of the iCarSoft devices. May work, may not. I have a cheap OBD-II to Bluetooth dongle I use with Torque Pro for Android, it only tells me basic codes like powertrain and chassis codes but I also have the Jaguar SDD diagnostic software on a laptop and a supported hardware interface for more in-depth stuff. The iCarSoft LR v.2 device for Jag/Land Rover vehicles is about £160 so not exactly breaking the bank, you'd pay that much for one diagnostic visit to a dealer. I'd get that if I wasn't already kitted up.
