Hi folks, a while since I've posted - my fleet has grown

Just took a bit of a gamble and purchased unseen a 2001 XKR from facebook marketplace....

It had been garaged for a year and I had done all the MOT failure research before buying to get a feel for what I was likely to get.
Known faults were hood hoses ruptured near windscreen top and ABS/Trac lights on

It came with a massive stack of paperwork and forms the basis for a winter project.

I put it in for a pre-MOT today (to a known and trusted garage) to see what fails and advisories there would be and was pleasantly suprised to get fails on ABS light (already known) and broken front coil spring

Advisories were poor washer jet and play in rear dif/driveshaft.

So my list of jobs is formed, I will also be adding timing tensioners/chains and water pump as there is no evidence of a change - although I will have a peek first.

My first question for you experts out there is on the coil springs.

I have little wires to the top of my struts so I am assuming that means adaptive dampers. Looking in JEPC the part number for road spring kit is JLM21276 which appears to be no longer available - and fairly expensive for twirly metal - which can't possibly be adaptive.

Can anyone advise of an alternative part or has anyone carried out a similar repair?

As always all advice gratefully received

OK, I may have mis-read the parts in JEPC - it looks like the code I want is JLM20706 - which is available and about £200

If you can get springs for a 2005, they may well be the same, but when I did my 96 it significantly lowered the car

Strike that, notice you are just after the fronts so stick with the originals. smile
