looked at 2.2s ended up getting the 3.0Ds far better in every way apart from fuel consumption, that said can get a regular 45mpg fill to fill on ours,

yes you can map the 2.2 but you can also map the 3.0d smilesmile mapped properly 320bhp and 525 lbs/ft of torque
Did you get yours remapped? Not sure if I'd want to go to 525 lbs/ft of torque as that exceeds the ZF's transmission maximum torque of 700Nm.

What about the Facelift 2.2 D? Any common issues with these?

Same gearbox as the 3.0?
2.2s were made for a reason. And that wasn’t for private ownership.

Going to go and view a 2013 3.0 Premium Luxury. Is high miles (130k) but being 6 years old will be motorway miles so not worried about that. 90% Main dealer history and recent cambelt.

How did you get on OP?

I’ve had a 2010 XFS Portfolio for nearly 18 months and it’s the first car I’ve had that I haven’t felt like changing by the time I’ve got to this point (not that many got to this point...)

Comfiest seats and I’ve done 30k without any major dramas.

Must say the reversing camera is the worst I’ve ever seen though, it’s only really useful at night given the level of ‘white out’ during the day. Good job the sensors are up to scratch!

So about 6 weeks ago now I picked up a 2011 3.0 Premium Luxury in Lunar Grey(I think!).

87k miles when I picked it up and already added about 2k on top of that.

Love it so far, not as powerful as my BMW but feels almost as fast mainly due to the speed of the gearbox.

Only thing that needs attention is some paint on the front bumper and the loom for the camera which the garage will be doing at some point.

Only plans so far are window tints, nothing crazy but think it really needs to and to get rid of most of the chrome. I just personally don't like chrome on a light colour car.

I wonder if it's a pre-facelift or wiring loom issue regarding white out with the reversing camera? Mine is absolutely fine day or night, although it's a facelift and a Sportbrake so no loom issues. Could be worth checking?

Nice and I know what you mean about the power, my 330d x-drive (a little lighter than the 5 series though) felt a touch quicker which was annoying considering the XF is a twin turbo. I've been tempting to get mine remapped or a decent tuning box but I worry about the intercooler or the inlet manifolds splitting. It'll never be quicker off the mark than the BMW because it was AWD and that really did make a difference, but I'm more interesting in mid-range stuff anyway.

I’ve seen a few advertised with photos showing the crappy camera and all were pre-facelift ones from memory (same as mine).

The parking sensors and looking over my shoulders tends to be my ‘go-to’ method right now as I’ve had a couple of little electrical niggles that have taken a couple of hundred here and there.

My passenger window likes to take 3 attempts to close more often than not so I’m expecting a fix for the motor next on the list....

I had a 2011 pre facelift S for 4 years & the rear camera was fine - not HD quality but perfectly usable day or night. So i suspect if it isnt there is a fault. The boot lid wiring loom is known to break at the hinge (although mine never did). Or maybe water has got in the lens?

More than likely a fault then. Will ask the chaps at Mike Allen to give me their view on a fix next time it goes in for some work.

Cheers
