I have all 4 tyres showing a warning on the TPMS (whilst not being under-inflated). It is on all of the time but occasionally flickers off briefly, I'm presuming a TPMS module is at fault rather than all 4 valves are knackered - any clues what can be causing it? Anything I can do?

Might just be that it’s got cold, and the tyre pressures are a little low as a result. My car (BMW) does the same. Top up the air first and see if that solves it, you might get lucky. smile

The valves have a sealed in battery which has a life of approximately five years! My guess would be that one or all are at the point they need replacing! You can generally find them on Ebay, but make sure you select the correct frequency, of which there are two. The frequency is shown on the sealed body of the valve which sits inside the tyre!

Probably this. My XFR-S did it a few weeks back. They can vary 8 PSI this time of year from a warmer day to a colder day with those size tyres. Mine are specs'd at 36 PSI, and the TPMS pings at 29 PSI.

I can check the pressures but I think they are OK. As it is all 4 tyres I'm suspecting a fault with the TPMS control module rather than the valves. Thanks for the tips though.

When did you last check the pressures?

At the start of November I had the car serviced by a Jaguar main dealer and the report states the tyre pressures were ok after adjustment. I checked them yesterday 28.5 ish rears 27.5 ish fronts, inflated them to 36/33 and the light went out.

Thanks to everyone who suggested I checked the obvious smile

Glad it’s sorted. Two things:
1. As said those big tyres vary enormously in pressure between October and December. Check every few days
2. Never ever trust a main dealer to check tyres pressures. Mine went in for a service with them all spot on. A day after the service the o/s/f pinged the tpms. Turned out the dealer checked the pressures with that wheel in direct sunlight, and therefore deflated it. Utter knobs.

Good outcome. For me, if it’s one tyre it might be a puncture, a couple might be sensors failing, but all four at the same time has consistently been because of seasonal pressure changes. smile

Have you tried resetting the system now the tyres have been inflated again?

Find the TPMS fuse (some have two), usually in the boot fusebox, pull it / them. lock the car, leave it for half an hour, then replace it / them. Sometimes just a few minutes is enough to reset the module. If half an hour doesn't do it, then it's not happening.

No need to reset on a ‘direct’ TPMS system like this. The in-wheel sensors are measuring actual pressure which is transmitted to antennas in each wheel arch (and in the boot for the spare) so will respond automatically to changes in pressure,

The indirect systems that use the wheel speed sensors to detect anomalies are the ones that need a reset.

I have just replaced the module on my XFR after getting spurious warnings from the wheel sensors. Pressures were always correct and the sensors are 2 years old.

The odd thing was that the faulty module didn't produce any diagnostic fault codes on either my Jag SDD nor my Autel MOT Pro. Bizarre!
Anyway, it works perfectly now and a brand new module only set me back £100 from the bay.

Is it telling you to check the pressure, or showing a TPMS fault message on the display? If the former, try overinflating a few psi momentarily, then reduce to the correct pressure.
If the latter unplug the two TPMS fuses in the boot fuseboard (#37 10amp & #55 5amp) and leave for ten minutes before replacing them. It may take a couple of miles driving for the fault to clear.

Just thought I'd close this out - it turned out a new battery resolved the issue entirely,
