Anyone have any experience of these People ? Its a long time since I saw a Series 2 XJ12 in such an attractive colour , bidding standing at £3000 I wonder where it will end at .

I've recently bought one, a 1976 XJ12. I had a 1971 Series 1 XJ6 years ago and loved the ride quality, this one came up locally and I couldn't say no. The V12, fuel injected in my car, is sooo smooth.
I've only had it a week but I can't stop driving it and have already covered 800 miles. This includes a trip of 513 miles from Devon to London and back in a single day. It's supremely comfortable and relaxing to drive.

It is a beautiful thing and I felt sure you would soon be along saying so . I was talking to an Owner of a Series 2 Double Six Vanden Plas last week about some of the differences between the Series 1 and 2 and indeed between the XJ12 and the Double Six Vanden Plas . Imagine these Vanden Plas Models being constructed as little more than rolling chassis and then shuttled round to Kingsbury to be finished alongside the DS Limousines , incredible to think of such a practise taking place today .reddiesel said:

Interestingly enough, Car magazine at the time said that the Jag V12 was more comfortable then the Daimler version due to the Daimler's piping constantly digging in the authors leg! I think they had chauffer's write down their thoughts, the test being against the RR, Cadillac and Mercedes... will try to dig out a copy.. obviously the V12 smashed it!https://www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/jaguar/1974...
