I am seriously considering buying an XKR. Any one out there give me some idea of servicing costs?

What mpg do you get. The mags say 23 mpg average?

Probably down hill, on a good day and with the wind behind you! or cruising at a steady 50 - 60 mph.

Costs are intergalactic.

Remember depreciation is a bigger cost than petrol,
which is also more than servicing.

Expect 30% depreciation a year. Very few folks buy second
hand Jags.

23 mpg is possible, rather than likely. My XJ8 3.2, over
20,000 miles, got 19 mpg, but I don't exactly drive slowly.

I think the smallest engine in any XK is about 4 liters,
so expect fuel consumption in the high teens.

Servicing starts at about 500 quid at a main dealer,
and goes rapidly up. Expect to pay 100 quid an hour
for a techie at a main dealer.

Your mileage may vary. If you drive like a vicar, buy
a ten year old XKR, and only service it yourself, you might
get a cheapish deal.
