How do you remove the front and rear number plates?
I presume they are stuck on, so a good pull will do the job.
I am always a bit wary of giving things an almighty shove / pull......

If they have no visible fixing, they will be stuck on with twinstick pads, usualy about 2-3" in from the edge of the plate, and sometimes one in the middle, if you pull gently, they should peel of without any damage.

I guess you went for the personalised plate then

I have to own up to putting A2XJV on my Jag, looks much better than the old one.

Don't know, I'll just go outside and have a look.

Edited to add what I saw.

2 screws on the back plate and 2 screws on the front plate, just like most cars. Is yours different then?

Thanks Chaps,
Yes, there are no visible fixings on mine, I think they must be attached with the sticky stuff.
I will 'gently' give them a pull.

Sure did Bob, I decided to put a different plate on it. I didn't like the previous reg.

Incidentally the plates that are on there are the same length as usual, but 120mm wide, which is a bit wider than norm.

Fancyplates.com are pretty good, and had them made up there.

Mike.

Also, I drove an XJR the other day, and older one than mine, I think an N reg, God what a beast, I was genuinely impressed, and quite a difference to mine.
I think I will be saving up then.....

I know what you mean Mike about the 'R' with Company car tax as it is, I think I will opt out next time round so the Merc could well become an XKR or if I'm being practical an XJR, I will probably still keep the the XJS convertible for the 2 -3k miles a year I do in it. You should try 12 pots sometime, smoooooooooooth

Bob.

:I must stop looking at Racing Green though!!:

I would love an XJS Convertible, but unfortunately with 2 small mini-me's and wifeys golf I will have to wait a bit.
I could not believe the xjr, I must admit, the straight six sounded nicer than my V8.
But then again, it had a hoofing great supercharger on it.
Funny old thing, it was in Racing green, I think it is a top colour for an XJ.

Nah, if it was an N reg it would have looked like this:

That's the one Pete.
I must get one, the xj8 sport will be a good compromise until then.
I don't think I would mind going for an earlier one either, I was completely bowled over.
