I have some water getting into the boot area around by the spare, does anyone know where this gets in, I seem to remember someone saying to watch for this. I did check this prior to buying it and all was dry, now its tipping down with rain and there is a small amount in the bottom.
Any help appreciated..

Regards

Greg

when i worked a Jaguar i was working on solving this problem for the up-coming face-lift. THere are three contributing factors to this problem:

the first thing to look at are the seals surrounding the light cluster and the seal that runs doun the doot edge. make sure that these don't interfere with each other, if they do then just pull the offending boot seal away and trim with sharp sissors and push back on making sure that its on properly.

secondly look at the plastic clips that hold the light cluster in (for this you need to pull back the boot carpet/trim). If any of the (rather brittle) clips are broken then it is an expensive replacement (unless you can figure out a way to hold the light cluster on more firmly.)

lastly if the clips aren't broken but the actual metal panel bits they clip into are bent backwards they might not clip in properly. if this is the case then just push the metal back into place (surprisingly easy)and giv the light cluster a firm shove to get the clips to locate again.

p.s. there should be three clips and it should be fairly obvious where they should be.

good luck mate, hope that solves it.
