Hi guys,
This is Jose from Portugal. I am thinking about buying one Passat Alltrack this year.
I have two questions if you can help me:
1-Are the Nappa leather seats worth it or are the regular alltrack ones more than enough?
2-Do you have any suggestions about equipment you recommend or about the car ir general?

Many thanks and I wish you all an excellent 2018!!
1) It depends if you want leather or not - The regular seats are fine - very comfy on a long journey, half cloth with alcantara on the bolsters both front and back.

2) The Alltrack comes fully loaded in the UK, but not sure if it is the same in other markets - the standard sat nav is useless, so the only essential option I wish I had ordered is the Smatphone integration, which allows you to use your phone - Google Maps with Android Auto or Apple maps with Apple Carplay - I have used Apple Carplay in my other car which is pretty good, and I use a magnetic vent mount with google maps in my Alltrack instead of the built in Nav.

I followed this thread from the outset last year, was gutted to miss out on the deal. I have a 2012 Passat now and I'm looking for something to replace it with and liked the look of the B8 Alltrack.
I assume no new deals have popped up like this since?

Down to 3mm all round on tyres (already swapped front to back). BVRLA says 2mm needed on hand-back so going to be close with another 4 months left. I can't see that you have to replace like for like in the VW lease agreement so can you just chuck any old tyre on that meets the speed and load rating? If so, Chinese widow makers it is.

TIA.

Where did you read about 2mm? I've just checked the BVRLA docs I have and all I can see is UK legal minimum so I assume 1.6mm?

Just a generic VWFS document so not sure if applicable to the Alltrack?

Actually, just seen this for PCH. You are right - tyres must meet minimum requirements @ 1.6mm:

Anyone else now thinking about a new lease and are totally shocked at the thought of having to pay "normal prices" for a new lease!? Can't bring myself to do it yet!

Volvo S60 is a decent price ~£4800 over 2yrs, but it's no Alltrack.

Good stuff! I think the .4mm might make a difference to me when mine goes back hence my concern!

Ordered an XC60 to replace it, not as cheap but still a really good price, i had ordered an A6 but we all know how that ended.

Also went for an XC60 (T5 R-Design) and slightly baulked at having to pay a semi-normal price for it. Looking forward to getting it in May.

Another ALLTRACKer here!
Just signed for the cheap Jag XF R-Sport lease. Quite a good deal. One of the lucky ones again, just proves you’ve gotta be quick.

On the Alltrack I ordered within 30 mins of the deal going live. Was a bit slow on the Jag, reckon I was about 2 hours from it first hitting PistonHeads!!

Base deal for XF momentum was-

23+9 x £163.99 inc vat for 5k / year

I went for the XF R-Sport with 9k / year.

Bumped it up to-

23+9 x £213 inc vat for 9k / year.

Not bad for £37.5k list price (18%)

Have noticed a rumbling noise coming from near side. Can’t pin down whether it’s front or rear. Anyone else experienced same problem?

I'm having my nearside front suspension replaced on Wednesday, top mount it knackered I think... it's done 18k miles! All under warranty of course.
