Why would I do this rather than go through the insurance? Surely I have to waste my time finding body shops, getting quotes, then getting the other party to agree to pay the quoted price without haggling, then actually get the money from her.
Going through the insurance sounds like a lot less hassle to me
It depends on your priorities, if you want less hassle, then yes, go through insurance. However, if you don't want your premiums to rise for the next 5 years then I'd get it done privately. The amount you'd pay probably wouldn't be a million miles from your excess either...Going through the insurance sounds like a lot less hassle to me

Don't insurance companies sometimes use incidents against you even if its not your fault (or even if you don't claim through them)?Going through the insurance sounds like a lot less hassle to me

although I think white can sometimes be just as bad.
Hopefully my white one will be here soon - can't wait to get out of diesel - although will miss the mpg!
Out of interest, what diesel are you leaving behind? I'll be leaving a GTD MY14 behind. It's been a good car but like you, can't wait to get back into petrol. I'm actually looking forward to paying more for the higher RON juice!Hopefully my white one will be here soon - can't wait to get out of diesel - although will miss the mpg!

Yeah I know what you mean, I've had quite a few black cars and it's the best colour when clean but that lasts for about 5 minutes! The grey isn't much better but I'll forgive it for being such a cracking car, I've been using it instead of my company car which is going to get a bit expensive but I can't help it!maccas99 said:

I'm leaving behind a 11 plate astra 2.0 cdti. Tbh it's been a excellent car, nothing gone wrong,I just fancied something petrol and with some zip!Always wanted a auto always since 2008. So Cheap lease came up and just went for it. My cars done 60k miles, plenty of life left in it, but only enjoyed diesel for long trip mpg, hated it when it's a cold morning and takes ages to heat up etc. The noise etc
