Did anyone who ordered a car on the last round of deals get any sort of dealer contribution?
Think they were the price the were because of manufacturer/dealer contribution. Price quotes didn't change, but my initial payment was actually 2200 but the dealer sent me a cheque for £580I.e they were advertised with the dealer contribution already showing.

Manufacturer and dealer are two very different things. I think the manufacturer ( or volkswagen finance) set the deal up but the dealers can also add ontop
Not in my experience, but would love to properly understand it! Last two Audi's I PCP'd prior to leasing the golf had headline figures of £k deposit contribution from audi. In reality, this is split between dealer/manufacturer when you see the invoice.Chiefbadger said:

Did you pay RRP for the cars? If not then your discount is effectively a "deposit contribution" on top of the one associated with the finance as far as you're concerned, it will just come out a bit differently on the dealers accounts if they actually have to give the money to VWFS for them to give it back to them which probably won't be the case. if for example your on a 3+23 @ £200 a month a dealer may be happy to stump up £400 of the initial £600
This is different to a deposit contribution on RRP
PCP you mean (not RRP)?This is different to a deposit contribution on RRP
Deposit contributions on PCP are BS anyway, its just one of varying methods they use to make things look like a good deal. Some offer 0%, some offer an interest rate then give you a load of money back to offset the interest. I suppose a deposit contribution is a very good thing if you are putting in a massive deposit, a lower rate is better if putting in a low deposit but I'm guessing there is a minimum borrowing on the car to qualify for the contribution as to not put them pout of pocket.
As you say a contribution on a lease is a different thing altogether. Basically its a discount but as it has to be run through the finance arm they need to front up money rather than give money off even though they get it back in profit on the deal long term.

I've only had mine a month and I've done 1200 already!
I can see me getting a cheap Clio or similar to run around in towards the end of my term at this rate!
OK, in reality it's a bit of an exceptional month for me - 200 miles delivery, 450 round trip to Plymouth - I'll do that once a year probably - and a trip to Gatwick - But 5K really assumes nearly no use!

It's not a limit. Excess mileage is probably around 10p per mile. Extra 10k over the term = £1000 or £42per month. Just factor it in for the full priceI've only had mine a month and I've done 1200 already!

£318 for the Golf R Estate DSG for 10k per year seems good to me, in fact I'm now dissapointed that I have a GTI due for delivery shortly!

Tempting deal but not sure I want the estate.
If going for a Golf R, my preference would be for the hatch too. However, as we all know, the more specific the criteria with have for a car, the less likely we are to be able to find a cracking deal. Sometimes we have to sacrifice certain criteria in looking for a lease in order to secure the best deals. For some, an estate will be acceptable, even though the less preferred of the body types. For other, it rules out the deal completely.marathonic said:

Yeh your right think I'm going to stick with looking for a used hatch withe the pretorias and in a decent colour.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
