Hi,

Just to let you know I have 2 Golf R Estates on the campaign where my customers have cancelled their orders. I have a Pure White one here in stock, and a Lapiz Blue one due to arrive with us shortly.

If anyone is interested in grabbing one of these, please drop me an email to Richard.gibson@windrush.co.uk or call me on 07968 900 059.

Thanks.
Hi Richard, i'd be interested in the details/costs of both?

So I extended my lease out until June 18 as I love my 15 plate R, but I'm now at 23k miles on a manual and my enthusiastic driving appears to have burnt out a clutch...anybody else had a problem?

Looks good. Not seen many if any Estates in Red.

Mine's 'In transit' so should be here within 2 weeks (hopefully).

It hasn't happened on mine and I've done 20k but I have read that the clutch is warrantied for 6k miles.

Have you been doing a lot of standing starts?

Red and Black both look good, both options I considered, but glad I went for Lapiz Blue, as I'd not had a blue car since my Puma in 1997 and my last two cars were Red and Black, so I thought I'd ring the changes!

I travelled in the back seat of mine for the first time yesterday (it's really quite comfy!) biggrin

I'm in a Night Blue hatchback at the moment, and it's disappointed me to be honest. It looks absolutely stunning when it's clean, but it stays that way for half a day at most. My last Golf was Tornado Red and that was a dream to keep clean, literally went weeks looking spotless, and my Golf before that was Diamond Black Pearl which was a nightmare!

Would dearly love VW to do some more interesting colours.

You mean you let someone else drive it!

Missus drove mine the other day, without her realising she put it in sport mode, pulled the gear stick too far down, so she was in fourth at 50mph on a dual carriageway for 3 miles. She did then realise to use the paddles.

Up to 4500 miles now in mine, apart from annoying rattly window, its a good car, just a shame with the performance of it it all seems a bit effortless, I guess thats why I like the type r honda (2.0 vtec n/a) - just felt a bit less point and squirt.

Never mind, got the twisty's in Wales coming up in 3 weeks!

It was white or red for me went for red in the end , love it , but I find its not easy to keep clean for long and the wheels take a proper effort .

My advice with the wheels is to take them off the car and thoroughly seal them with a product such as Poorboys Wheel Sealant, perhaps as many as three coats. Then use a non-acidic cleaner, Bilberry is good.

I agree with your advice but Poorboys wheel sealant as a product performs very badly, I used it on my Golf R wheels and it offered absolutely nothing. If it were me, knowing what I know now, I'd spend a little more and buy a ceramic/quartz like Gyeon Q2 Rim. 2 coats of that and you won't even need to use any wheel cleaner, just some soapy water. Lasts ages too!
