It does. Press and hold the brake for a few seconds and let go.....should work.
Yep, you're right. Seems to be ok now sumo69 said:
So 3200 miles and I have a nail through the sidewall of my offside rear - not repairable.
Apparently the Contisport 5 is no longer available, so I have a 6 on there now - £180 fitted with Black Circles at the same tyre shop that quoted me £205 the day before!!

Assuming yours is a Cupra with 235/35/R19 that had Contisport 5P's (not 5's) then black circles still sell them in AO Audi fitment for £166.10.Apparently the Contisport 5 is no longer available, so I have a 6 on there now - £180 fitted with Black Circles at the same tyre shop that quoted me £205 the day before!!

Going to local dealer next week to talk numbers and have a test drive. Was set on the hatchback but now seeing that estate above, I'm leaning towards that. Does the estate come with more as standard or is it the same as the 300 hatchback spec wise ?
I wasn't sure about DSG but have read the manual is a bit notchy on changes.
My other choice was the golf Gti but that has a lot less power than the leons.

Hi Spider, the spec is the same between the 290 hatch and ST so I'd imagine it's the same on the 300. Yeah the manual is notchy between 1st and 2nd when pottering around town. Not sure what the DSG box is like in the Cupra but I've got it in my work Transporter and it's ok but not great. Gets confused when driving around town and you have to give it the beans to get it to change down sometimes. IMO not as good as the BMW or Merc auto boxes. Not terrible by any stretch though. Same spec as said, the DSG is ok, but IMHO it needs remapping hence why I'm running Stage 2 car with DSG file as well. Joeseppi said:

Is it just 1st to 2nd thats notchy ? I can live with that as most my driving is out of town. Hopefully i'll get a good test drive with the DSG to see if its for me or not (always driven manual)
Wont be tuning as car will be on lease.

I have a 290 manual like Joseppi and whilst there is/was undoubtedly a bit of notchiness in the gear change it is pretty minor - to the extent that I can't even remember if it is still there and I only drove the car 20 minutes ago!Hopefully i'll get a good test drive with the DSG to see if its for me or not (always driven manual)

On the whole the gear change is pretty swift and it slots in to gear nicely, if I were to have another (fingers are crossed for some banging deals in 18 months time!) I would have another manual as some DSG owners have reported a bit of delay in certain situations which really bugged me in other cars I have driven with similar 'boxes.
Couldn't help but notice another PHer posting a purchase price for a brand new Cupra 300 - £21,995. Thought it was a joke at first.

About £2k cheaper than other dealers in mainland UK. A great deal.

I have done nearly 6500 miles and I have already noticed that the Contis are wearing a lot quicker than I expected.
I knows its a 290bhp FWD car which st traction and that the tyres are crap but how are you finding the wear rates? In the dry it is noticeable how much less grip there is and in the wet today it was a joke.
I think I have been fairly easy on them. I guess I need to change to pilots!

If you check in the general section there was a little discussion on the 5P's in the PS4 thread. I have 5P's on my Scirocco R (same fitment) and I've just done over 1000 miles driving it pretty sedately and they're starting to wear already! They're not cr*p tyres though, all the reviews state they were some of the best tyres for grip however the wear rates are appalling, if they're getting low on tread then they're obviously going to start losing grip especially in the wet! I'll be replacing mine with either Pilots or Eagle F1's when they need changing which is likely to be less than a year/6k miles I knows its a 290bhp FWD car which st traction and that the tyres are crap but how are you finding the wear rates?
