So how does it work with the dealer? Seat told me a delivery week of 25 September. Will the dealer just ring me up some day and say "oh BTW your car is here if you want to come get it"? Seeing as it is only 10 days away, I thought I might have heard from the dealer.
Just wondering as I need to arrange my golf to be taken back by bca.
I asked phill about this when I rang the other week, mine has a ETA delivery of roughly the same time as you and I've want to chuck a fresh but early MOT on my current car in prep for sale but want to hold off encase the cupra is severely delayed.

Basically the dealership only find out 24hours before that the car is about to be enroute to them, it will then be ready for collection 3 or 4 days after that.

I ordered my car through IMG in Warrington on 15th July, and have been told mid November for delivery (allocated to week 44 for build) which is a bit of a blow given I was originally told end of September/early October. I am yet to get a build number or anything like that through IMG. People mentioning getting information through Seat, is that through Seat UK? Anyone have a number or a contact there?

Hopefully I will be able to collect 1st October then. Not long to wait now.

I rang up to chase my build week with Seat as the dealer was was being less than defininte about what was going on.

My order date was 13th July. Unconfirmed build week of Week 11 2018!!!!! Which is a 35 week lead time to the build date never mind the extra 4 weeks for delivery.

Now im not sure what to think. I can buy a scrapper as a run around when exisiting lease goes back in December and pocket the savings for a few month and possibly end up with any of the new build year features that may happen (Virtual Cockpit etc if im lucky) or be extremely pissed off and kick off for an earlier build week

I'm in the same boat. Not had a good experience with Seat or the dealer to be fair which is a shame. I've currently got a Seat UK Case Manager now dealing with my order as they agree it is unacceptable. However, this is now day 3 waiting for a call back which I have not received. I have called up every afternoon only to be told sorry I'll get a call tomorrow for certain. Has anyone ever been able to wriggle any goodies from SEAT if you complain enough and in the right way (options added for no extra cost etc) or am I hoping for the impossible?

Mine has been passed to case manager. My biggest gripe is that the week is unconfirmed despite being 9 weeks since ordering.

I cant imagine they are keen at giving stuff for nowt. As i said i wont object to digital cockpit thing though smile

This is very annoying, I only left my deposit with IMG two weeks ago so I guess I am a long long way off!

Which dealer did you do with ? My order date was very close to yours, but IMG were confident it would be here before the end of this month.

If I was in your boots I would kick off as much as possible as 35 weeks is not acceptable !

I ordered with a a dealer in the North East, he was also confident fo delivery around end November which would have tied in with exisiting car going back. I wouldnt be too bothered if i had to get a scrapper for a few months as i would save a decent amount which can pay for a holiday instead. I might even get some of the new 2018 build features as well which is why im not as angry. I didnt pay a deposit either so i havent made any financial commitments yet

I ordered the 5 door hatchback manual with no options so it shouldnt be a complicated one, but i did read somewhere of another shortage of wheels, this time the 19"

Kinda seems like deja vu here, I thought last year when these kind of issues were happening it may be because of the impending facelift but now to hear there is another shortage of wheels on top of the ever-extending lead times seems like exactly the same issues are being repeated.
Bit of a shame really as the Cupra is a cracking car but I imagine a few people will not be able to hold out and will cancel orders?

Pretty pleased I cancelled my factory order now and went with a stock car, awaiting transport from the dock to Wolverhampton. Should be with me end of Sept/beginning of October.

Drop me a message if you want some details, no idea if they have more stock cars they can call on, but worth an ask.

I am sure the dealer could source a stock one from somewhere if I got desperate. However I am quite fancying the idea of a random run around for a few months and maybe try and blag something for a late delivery
