I think (not 100%) the only difference is that in Cupra mode the rev limit is raised by 500rpm, next time I'm out in it I'll have a play and find out.
Mine is manual, so if that is the case, I'm guessing they're identical.

Would anyone be interested in taking on my lease? I'm looking to take another member's cancelled order (with DSG, happens to arrive much sooner as well smile), and see if someone wants to take mine:

1+23 @ 261, 8k miles per annum
Cupra 300 Manual 5 DR
Mystery Blue
Extras: SEAT sound system

It's with IMG, and the latest unconfirmed build date when I asked, was week 8 2018. This is expected to come forward.
I might be interested in this. Any updates on your delivery date? I am thinking of taking a 1+23 @259 for the manual in the Mystery blue.

Any ideas if you will get the swap to DSG? This would shave 8 weeks of my potential delivery time as I was quoted April

Thanks

I was out in it today, from all the data I could see, there was no difference between Sport and Cupra modes, rev limit was the same, boost was the same and it felt exactly the same. I'm intrigued now and will have to look further into it.

Yeah I had a play about too. All I can tell is that there's a slight audible rise from the actuator when I put it into Cupra. Revs etc stay the same and I'm noticing massive bangs from the exhaust now because it's not totally obscured by the Gran Turismo engine noise. Say Cupra is 100% fake noise, Sport sounds more like 50-60%.

An update on mine...

Ordered 14th July
Build WK38 (18th September)
Arrived in UK port 3rd October
Expected at IMG Wc 9th October

So the end is in sight!
How did you find out when it arrived at the port etc?
Sorry, only just seen this. IMG told me that it was at the port, but only when I asked them where it was.

It arrived at the dealer yesterday, so 13 days to clear customs and reach the dealer!

I ordered from IMG Warrington the first week of Sept, got an unconfirmed build date of Week 8 so an early March expected delivery. A bit of a wait but doesn't bother me!

Has anyone cancelled there order before taking delivery? Did you manage to get your £250 deposit back from IMG? I'm considering cancelling and getting on one of the S4 saloon deals, very tempting though considerably more for the S4 as you would expect.

I got my deposit back but it was From SEAT UK. IMG wouldn't not give mine back even after they said they would if my car would be delayed long than expected. IMG weren't very good at all, but you can try.

Just to confirm, you ordered with IMG, but you were refunded by SEAT UK? Did you raise a grievance with them as IMG wouldn't refund you?

I am considering this but keen to know at what they can cancel the order. My build week is still unconfirmed so i cant imagine it would cause a problem. Other half is bleating on about how much i could save by getting a run-around instead

Anyone looking to cancel their deal on the Cupra let me know. Build date looks ridiculous for anyone looking to order now.

Long story cut short. I ordered beginning July and was told an October delivery (latest November) from IMG so I made an order as needed a replacement for company car going back in October (gone now). I rang SEAT for updates as IMG weren't helpful. My build date eventually got given and was week 8 next year so SEAT contacted me to say that my case had been given to a Case Manager. They sourced me a car that was due to be given to a dealer and they even bettered the IMG deal and part of the deal was that they would give me my deposit back as a special case of IMG wouldn't. I asked IMG only for their sales manager to get rather heated and annoyed on the phone and was given a F*** Off tablet. Contacted SEAT and they honoured their word and sent me a cheque in the post and said they would investigate IMG.

Don't do it! If you can wait, wait! It's an incredible car and I love it!

I'm cancelling mine, delivery Xmas week. IMG basically don't want to transfer as they say it's a lot of work for them :/

Wonder if that means they will class this as an in stock car at some point with a quick turn around for some lucky customer,

Can you confirm if its 259 per month in total or do you need to allow for VAT?

Silly question but was the 250 a deposit or the 259 for the first monthly payment?

Do IMG take an admin fee as well? If so did you lose this when cancelling?

I can't remember how IMG were working it out. I believe that you paid £250 to place order for car. Once you took delivery of the car they would pay that back. They charged something like 170ish for 'admin' fee. So they said that the initial was actually like £1170 pounds that would be taken out of my account by SEAT Finance but they (IMG) would hand over a cheque for £1000 on the day of collecting car and that it would clear into my account in time before initial payment was taken out. It was a strange arrangement but I think that what their deal was. I wanted my £250 back as I argued that they were not delivering on their promise of getting a car in October / November which is what sold the deal to me. I even had an email from IMG around August time when my delayed build date originally started saying that if it got any worse (it did by another 2 months) that I could cancel my order and I'd get my money back... I forwarded this email to the Sales Manager at IMG but he fobbed me off. Really bad service from them there. Explained all this to SEAT UK and this is the reason they gave me the money back and said they would be looking into IMG (whatever that means).
