The Cupra (Black) Lease thread

Has anybody recently had any luck with getting build dates? I ordered mine at the start of September and still haven't heard anything. I was told that the build date will be end of Jan, however this is now looking unlikely.
I ordered mine on the 1st September and haven't been given a confirmed build date yet. I've pissed IMG off with the number of times I've asked for updates . I was told that the provisional build date was Week 8 2018, but I don't know if that will come forward or be pushed back. The confirmed build date is given 2 weeks before production starts IIRCHi all,
I have a Cupra leased from IMG Warrington which I've had since September. Recently my bloody next door neighbour managed to drive into the back of it while it was parked on the driveway (our driveways are side by side and one complete bit of tarmac). She was trying to swing round onto her side of the drive and must've overshot or something.
There actually seems to be hardly any damage other than a bit of a crease in the rear number plate and a tiny stone-chip sized scratch on the bumper (her front end fared worse), which is surprising since going by the scratch marks on the driveway it looks like she pushed it forwards by a good 18 inches.
What do you folks think is the best course of action here? I was thinking about just getting a replacement number plate, but since it's leased and I don't have the required documentation I don't know how I'd go about getting one. After thinking about it though I'm a bit concerned that if there's any non-obvious damage to the structure of the car I might get landed with a bill when I eventually send the car back. Do you think I should report it to my insurance company? I've never had to make a claim before, so I'd rather avoid having it on my record if it's something and nothing (like just a replacement number plate), but on the other hand maybe it's better to be safe than sorry.
I've tried ringing the Seat Driverline number and choosing option 2 for accidents and vandalism, but no-one ever answers so that's a bit useless.

Take it to a local reputable indy. They'll charge circa £30 or so to put it up on ramps and have a quick look for any structural/suspension damage. Get your neighbour to cover this cost. They can probably also print you a new plate for £10 or so.

I would use insurance as the very last resort. Or your premium will be going up for someone else's carelessness. I'd take it to a local trusted garage and get them too look. Then go back to seat and get a numberplate if there is no damage.
That's what I was thinking, r.e. premiums going up for the sake of a (hopefully) very cheap repair. Maybe I will get my regular local garage to take a look first then, although I've been reading that you're supposed to tell your insurer of any incidents even if you don't claim (or claim from their insurance not yours). Sounds a bit like they want any excuse to put premiums up!At the very least I will need a new number plate, but as I don't have the registration documentations it looks like I'll need a permission letter. On the Halfords site it says I'll need:
"A letter of authorisation from Fleet Operators (including a lease/hire company). The letter must quote the document reference number from the V5C"
Do I get this from the dealer I got the car from, or should I try Seat Driverline (assuming anyone ever answers)? Unless my local indy garage can get them without seeing the documents, although it's a requirement by law so I doubt it. Mind you, if they can see that the original plate has the same reg number then what's the problem?

Sooooo looking forward to better weather so I can get the power down, wheels spinning all the time , really missing my S3!!
What tyres do people have on theirs? Even in the cold wetness of Scotland, my car only wheel spins if I try to make it at about 20mph pedal to the metal in 2nd. As soon as I hit the powerhouse that is 3rd gear at about 30mph, wheel spin is near impossible unless I intentionally provoke it by shifting down to get high revs.Jonno02 said:
