Just changed my order to Monsoon Grey.
It seems the most popular colour and I can see why, the eclipse orange was a bit too lairy for me.
Not seen an Eclipse Orange in the metal yet but that's what I have ordered - after 2 years with a grey car I fancy something with a bit of colourIt seems the most popular colour and I can see why, the eclipse orange was a bit too lairy for me.

I did think that but i am still yet to see an eclipse orange car, so bottled it when choosing. Monsoon grey looks a half decent colour i wont get annoyed by. Please post some pics when it arrives!

Well after having my first car ‘written off’ by Seat en route for delivery in December I’ve now been given a delivery date at the end of March, after ordering the car back in July.
So, I’ve cancelled my order and back to the drawing board, such a frustrating experience, and having been in a Cupra ST 300 recently a very nice car to boot. Shame
Bugger. Must be extremely frustrating. I got lucky when I got mine in September. A very helpful chap on here mentioned that there was still the odd car in stock at some dealers and I managed to secure the exact model I wanted and had it a couple of weeks later. At the same time, my wife opted for a 5 door Leon 1.2 something or other. She ordered in September. Quoted as 6 week lead time. Then it became delivery by Christmas. Then it became early January. Then late January and most recently, she's being quoted late February. Late February is okay if that actually happens but all of these date changes are killing our confidence that the car will be available in any sort of usable lead time. Thinking about pulling the plug on it. So, I’ve cancelled my order and back to the drawing board, such a frustrating experience, and having been in a Cupra ST 300 recently a very nice car to boot. You didnt check this before signing?
If I'm honest - No. Never leased before but my understanding was that tax is included as the car must be leased to you as "on the road"..... I only panicked when my drive away insurance was coming to the end and I was sorting out my own.I hope my question didn't offend you!
Seriously considering getting one of these for my next lease.
Long lead time no issue since my current lease still has 5 months to go.
Currently have a Golf R Estate so i'm guessing the fuel economy will be more or less the same (terrible around town/short journeys/decent on a run) and the performance (though I may have to go manual this time as the DSG options seems to be way more expensive) will be similar too.
I've read that the Leon interior is not a match for the Golf (quite like my R cabin) but it can't be that much of a step down?

Its not far off, just a bit duller and a few areas a bit cheaper to touch.
Some try to suggest its bargain basement but it really isn't.
Great though my R Estate (DSG) is. It's hardly the most exciting thing in the world. Some try to suggest its bargain basement but it really isn't.
Comparing it to my old 182, I'd class the R as dull
I think 300 bhp in a Manual FWD Leon might be more entertaining than A DSG 4WD Golf
£269 on a 1+23 at IMG Warrington seems about the best deal (I may pop to my local dealers and have a looksy). Anyone know if that includes Met Paint?
No winter pack as standard on these I see. Heated seats are a must lol.

Metallic has been included in all previous lease deals. The winter pack is a little disappointing, the £249 10k p/a deals on the cupra 290 black editions were fantastic; heated bucket seats as standard. Seat could be doing with taking out the useless DCC on 19"s and putting the heated buckets in.Comparing it to my old 182, I'd class the R as dull

Speak to Carly at Lookers SEAT in Stockport, I've just had my ST confirmed there, £227 on a 6+23 for 10k miles, metallic paint included, presumably your price is for 8k miles? Gone for the Eclipse Orange myself.Comparing it to my old 182, I'd class the R as dull

Cheers for the Info guys.
Agreed jonno.
That's a good deal Steve. Tad more expensive (£100 overall) but £2K extra miles per year and metallic makes it easily the better deal.
If they have the same support on the non estate models, would be great.
Out of all, i'd actually prefer the 3 Dr SC.

So I then narrowed it down to silver and mystery blue. I didn't think red suited the car and while I really like the look of it in black, white and grey I've had all those colours recently. I then discounted silver as it's also monochrome, although I think it may actually be my favourite colour for the ST.
That left me with Mystery Blue - which looks really good and my kid's favourite colour is blue. Job done.
I then went on to YouTube to look at some videos of the ST 300 and came across this one:
(it's in Polish, which I don't understand)

I was very, VERY close to ordering Eclipse for my ST - looks awesome on the few pics I've seen and no need to worry about residuals or getting rid of it. Decided to speak to the missus about it (as she keeps my feet on the ground when I'm thinking about doing stupid man stuff like strapping rocket boosters to my bike) and surprisingly she said she actually liked the colour and that on the coupe/hatch it's the best colour, but on an estate it would probably just be "too much orange". And I think she's right.

I've gone for Eclipse Orange, though the Red is incredibly nice, popped to our local dealer to have a look at some of the colours and the Red looked very special. Orange looked very similar to the Valencia Orange on our 1 series, very dark and burnt-looking under the overcast and miserable conditions we looked at it in, but should look fantastic in the sunshine. That said, I've only got the roof of an Arona to base this on, as I still can't find any shots of it out in the wild, besides the launch videos of the Arona. So I then narrowed it down to silver and mystery blue. I also have an order arriving in June. Initially I was dead set on mystery blue and I saw the colour on an Ibiza FR at Seat White City and under the showroom lights it looked great, however I then viewed it in a (typically english) daylight at a dealer and was a bit underwhelmed, it just didn't look as metallic as I had hoped and almost looked like a flat blue from a distance. I have gone for Monsoon Grey.

Pretty much summed up my thoughts on the blue. I really think the silver suits this car so well, but wanted a change and a bright colour. However if they did that 'primer' grey that Audi and Skoda do I may well be waiting on one of them right now!

I'm sure I'll be jealous of the orange when you post pics, but I know I won't be disappointed with the red either. I had a white 1 series and always regretted not going for Valencia - with black trim and alloys it looks immense.Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
