The Cupra (Black) Lease thread
Discussion
I've swapped my order for the DSG after seeing both gearboxes are now the same price. It will actually work out costing an extra £15 a month as they have to recalculate the finance but thought that wasn't too bad. Better than the £40 difference it was before. It has put back the order 3 weeks though.
I also swapped the colour to the eclipse orange, hope I've made the right decision after having never seen one in the flesh. Just want something a bit different.

They may also be trying to get rid of all the 6 spd DSG boxes....as I suspect they might be moving to the 7 spd at some point in the future.
Is that the one in the Audi? coupe20VT said:
The one in the golf r 7.5. I am just speculating though. I don't know for sure but since the cupra is now getting the virtual cockpit like the golf, the cupra maybe getting the gear box too.
Makes sense. They order X amount of 7 speed and X amount of 6 speeds, the cost will be overall more expensive than ordering 2X of a 7 speed. I just hope now that the DSG is a free option that we see the DSG come in line with manuals for lease prices.Thought I'd chip in here. Had a test of a Cupra 300 at the weekend and will be placing an order tomorrow. Dealer quoted a lead time of end of July which seems to match the 6 month wait time posted above.
The model I tested didn't have the digital dash but the brochure the dealer sent me definitely had it ticked as 'standard'. Excited to hear thoughts as I expect it really adds to the feel.
(Loved the car by the way, back to back with my aging Megane R26 it felt responsive, agile and a fair bit up on power).

Whatever you do, don't mention on the megane forum or Facebook page that the Cupra is better...you'll get lynched like I did and told that it's a dull handling, numb steering VAG st box of a car that isn't as fast or as good as you say it is.The model I tested didn't have the digital dash but the brochure the dealer sent me definitely had it ticked as 'standard'. Which dealer are people using.
Img were good for the 1+23 but I wanted a three year lease with a payment under £250 to keep a certain person happy !!
I have found that the dsg models are cheaper to lease through most non dealer lease firms.
Best so far is £254 on a 3+35, 5000 miles ( £264 fully maintained ) or £243 on a 6+35, 8000 miles. These are factory orders though.
Found a stock red dsg but the dealer is expensive, a blue manual due in three weeks ( Not sure if it will have the new dash ? ) or a stock monsoon grey manual, non digital dash.
Not fussed about the dash really but if I have to factory order then all the better.
Pleasant surprise at the insurance quote for such a high group car, £198 year, could even get some cashback if I search about.

Haha...I do go on the Meg forums and Facebook now and again, I'll be sure to post some photos up there when I eventually take delivery and watch the fireworks. To be fair the R26 didn't feel awful in comparison but a world behind a brand new 300hp hatch for sure, especially the DSG.
I've gone with the IMG Warrington DSG deal but matched at a local dealer...1 + 23 £298 no admin fees. Mystery blue!
Well, after much searching I have found two stock cars and need to decide which one to go for !
Firstly a Monsoon Grey manual with the new digital cockpit.
Secondly a Desire Red dsg with the normal dash.
Both £250 month over two or three years with 9 months upfront but with £900/£1000 refund do it works out around 5 months upfront.
I like the grey and the new dash but really wanted a dsg but haven’t seen a desire red in the flesh to know if it looks good in the Cupra.
The picture the dealer sent looks lovely but I saw a dirty Arona and it looked dull.
Which to go for ????
Oh and has there been any other changes apart from the digital dash ?

Just a reminder for those using VWFS that you can get a potentially reduced monthly rental if you can reduce the mileage from the original quote. The minimum is a 5k reduction and can only be quoted for after 6 months in and before you are in the last 6 months of the lease.
On the Seat Cupra Black 290 I am 14 months in and have done 8.5k miles on a 10k pa lease.
Asked for a quote on 14k and 15k miles (max I can do is 15k, 20k lease minus 5k reduction).
Quote will take 12 working days and there is a £60 exc vat if I decide to take one of them.

You did well to find stock cars - I phoned a few dealers and brokers and they struggled to find any. Deal wise that seems to work out a bit cheaper than mine amortised over the term. My car was ordered today and they are quoting early July, actual date to be confirmed but dealer says any earlier is wishful thinking.Firstly a Monsoon Grey manual with the new digital cockpit.

That's a bit of a dilemma as the digital dash really lifts the interior and makes it look very modern inside (and everyone loves gadgets) but the DSG is probably the one to go for. I read that the manual can be a little less smooth and from what the dealer was saying (who has driven both) the change from 1st to 2nd is not particularly great. You also get all the DSG associated noises...love them or hate them.

This is mine in Desire Red, it has an 'old' dash, but displays speed digitaly and it is enough for me.Firstly a Monsoon Grey manual with the new digital cockpit.

The dealer sent me pictures of the red and it looked lovely.
Was going for it then the salesman decided he wanted an extra £12 month over what he quoted me !!
Not amused especially when he said if it didn’t sell today they were going to register it for themselves. Why register it when you have a buyer waiting, strange.
Have also found a white dsg, waiting for a quote.
If I got real life reports of the manual I would be tempted as the sales guy was genuine.
