Got my BCA sales letter today...3 year old Cupra 290 black purchase price just under £16k.

Looks to be in line with autotrader so don't think there a preferential price for leasers lol

Still debating whether to get a new one on lease. Or fund a used Golf R with the £16k! Or an early Mk7 GTi for slightly less! laugh

Got my 290 recently. It's so quiet compared to the 300 frownfrownfrown literally no bang on upshift and very very feint pops on overrun

Same dude I’m told it’ll get louder the more miles we do. I’ll wait and see.

Is yours mega gutsy on fuel? Can’t remember my 300 drinking that much

My 300 was loud from day 1.

Seems a bit worse on fuel, but then the 300 wasn't great to begin with. I remember the mpg got a lot better over ten thousand miles.

The 300 seemed rather flat at low revs then a whole massive bomb of power, whereas the 290 seems more instant power low down. Maybe that's where the worse fuel economy comes from.

7th gear is a pain in the backside and I'm sure the dsg is confused when I come to a junction, slow down and keep going. It goes from 7th to 5th then spazzes out and eventually gets to 2nd when it should be 3rd, then I'm flying off in 2nd. Bizarre!

Yeah the DSG hasn’t been programmed great there’s very little engine breaking and feels like it’s always riding the clutch at slower speeds.

Have you tried Cupra mode yet?

I drive individual, which is all cupra except DCC which is sport and Aircon is eco. But I've not tried sport yet only in drive.

It feels better built that the 300 I don’t have rattles from the door cards and stuff

I have a very annoying rattle I discovered today. In Cupra mode when the revs get up to about 3000+ there is a rattle between the dash and windscreen. So I'm thinking it's something to do with the soundaktor ? As it doesn't do it in Sport or comfort. I seem to remember reading about it on the golf R I believe.

You’re correct! If you feel the windscreen with Cupra mode on and off you’ll feel it vibrate when on.

Can’t say I’m a fan of the soundaktor

Anyone had any experience with their car being stolen whilst on lease? It's currently with the insurers and I have looked in to the CAP figures but they aren't giving much away.

Be vigilant guys, my FL Cupra was stolen last week.

Whereabouts are you based? There was someone on SP&L section who had one lifted from Manchester

Lux ordered. Gone with fully maintained this time.
The cost difference when added up compared to my current lease car is £15 a month more.

Anyone who had the £249 deals from couple of years ago, any idea how much per mile is charged if you go over the allowance?
